There's an avalanche of jaw-dropping cameos in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman reprise their iconic X-Men roles in the new sequel, which also stars Emma Corrin as Cassandra Nova, the villainous long-lost twin of Professor X, plus Matthew Macfadyen, Leslie Uggams, Morena Baccarin and Rob Delaney.

As promised, there are a bunch of A-list cameos. (Sorry, no Taylor Swift, as was previously debunked.) Director Shawn Levy told Entertainment Weekly, "We didn't want any of the cameos or characters to be the story of the movie. But they are peppered in throughout. There's a lot of characters."

He added, "The internet is a delight of rumors about the multitude of character cameos that are in this movie. Some rumors are true, some are way off base."

Great measures were taken to hide the secret cast members. Executive producer Wendy Jacobson told GamesRadar+ they planted fake cameo claims online to mislead fans: "There may or may not have been some subterfuge and misdirections on the internet or in person in order to protect the secrecy."

Jennifer Garner as Elektra

Reports first broke in summer 2023 that Garner, 52, would reprise the role 20 years later in Deadpool & Wolverine. Her return marks a reunion with Reynolds and director Shawn Levy, with whom she made the 2022 film The Adam Project.

Garner originally brought her version of Elektra to the big screen in 2003's Daredevil, opposite now-ex-husband Ben Affleck. Then, she got her own solo Elektra film in 2005.

Blade is back, and so is Snipes, 61, who portrayed the vampire-hunting half-mortal in three Blade films from 1998 to 2004. His costars in those films included everyone from Stephen Dorff, Norman Reedus and Ron Perlman to Jessica Biel, Parker Posey and Mr. Deadpool himself, Ryan Reynolds.

In Deadpool & Wolverine, Snipes jokes that there's "only ever gonna be one Blade," an apparent nod to the stalled development of a Blade reboot starring Mahershala Ali.

Evans, 43, has returned to the MCU — but not as Captain America. The actor is back as Johnny Storm, a.k.a. the Human Torch, a role he played in 2005's Fantastic Four and its 2007 sequel Rise of the Silver Surfer. His costars in those films were Jessica Alba, Ioan Gruffudd and Michael Chiklis.

The actor's Johnny Storm also pops up in the Deadpool & Wolverine end-credits scene, which is a flashback to before he is violently killed by Emma Corrin's Cassandra Nova character.

In a montage sequence, Reynolds' Deadpool searches various timelines for the best iteration of Wolverine to help save his universe. One of those is briefly played by a shirtless Cavill, 41.

Rumors swirled online earlier this year that the former Superman actor was stepping into the Wolverine role, which has been played by Hugh Jackman since 2000's X-Men.

Though she never shows her face, Reynolds' real-life wife Lively, 36, gets in on the fun as one of the many versions of Deadpool near the end of the film. Fans suspected her involvement from clues shared in the marketing leading up to the film.

"I would love to work with Blake, but I can’t afford her fee," Reynolds joked to ComicBook.com when asked about her potential cameo. The couple shared the screen in 2011's Green Lantern, and Lively had a voice role in Reynolds' recent family film IF.

One of the couple's daughters, 7-year-old Inez, is also credited with a cameo in the film.

Tatum, 44, gets lots of laughs as Gambit, the hero with a magical deck of cards and a thick accent. The Magic Mike actor previously revealed he was not able to make his dream Gambit movie come to fruition. (Taylor Kitsch played Gambit in 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which also starred Jackman and Reynolds.)

The standalone Gambit movie Tatum was working on was axed when Disney bought Fox in 2019, according to Variety.

Tatum told the outlet back in 2022, "Once Gambit went away, I was so traumatized. ... I shut off my Marvel machine. I haven't been able to see any of the movies. I loved that character. It was just too sad. It was like losing a friend because I was so ready to play him."

Tyler Mane as Sabretooth

Mane, 57, reprises his role as Wolverine's nemesis after previously playing him 2000's X-Men, which also starred Jackman.

The actor attended the New York City premiere of the movie and wrote on Instagram, "I’m so confident you will all love this film as much as we did. Congratulations to everyone who had a part in making this spectacle such a fun ride!"

Favreau, 57, has portrayed Happy Hogan, former driver to Tony Stark, in the MCU since 2008's Iron Man with Robert Downey Jr. In Deadpool & Wolverine, he pops up to interview Deadpool about maybe joining the Avengers team.

Outside of the three Iron Man films, his character shows up in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: Far from Home and Spider-Man: No Way Home.
