Bhad Bhabie Says 'My Cancer Medication' Caused Weight Loss, Sparking Online Concern
The rapper and reality star said she's “slowly gaining” weight back after an undisclosed medical issue
Rapper Bhad Bhabie responded to recent criticism of her appearance, saying her weight loss is due to "cancer medication."
“I’m sorry my cancer medication made me loose [sic] weight,” Bhabie, 21, wrote in a post shared to her Instagram stories on Nov. 7.
“Im slowly gaining it back. So stop running w the worst narratives.”
The performer (real name: Danielle Bregoli) didn’t share any details about her illness — or the specific medication she’s on.
Her post comes amid comments from fans and critics alike, who remarked that she looks “more skinny,” “Dang her whole face changed” and “she looks so different.”
Following her post about being on cancer medication, fans commented, "People need to have more empathy instead of jumping to conclusions and assuming,"
"Im praying for you and your health!!! You baby need needs you!!" added another fan.
Bhabie — who became an overnight online sensation after a 2016 Dr. Phil appearance, where she infamously said, “Cash me outside, how ’bout that?” — parlayed her notoriety into a music and modeling career. She recently posed for Marc Jacobs while pregnant with her first child, daughter Kali Love, whom she welcomed with boyfriend Le Vaughn.
She also starred in a reality series for Snapchat, called Bringing Up Bhabie, in 2019.
PEOPLE has reached out to Bhabie for comment.
