Beyoncé Postpones Mysterious Jan. 14 Announcement Due To LA Fires
Beyoncé is postponing her highly anticipated mystery announcement that was scheduled to be shared Jan. 14 due to the devastating and ongoing wildfires in the Los Angeles area.
The superstar singer, 43, posted a statement on Instagram to reveal the delay.
“The January 14th announcement will be postponed to a later date due to the devastation caused by the ongoing wildfires around areas of Los Angeles. I continue to pray for healing and rebuilding for the families suffering from trauma and loss,” Beyoncé wrote. “We are so blessed to have brave first responders who continue to work tirelessly to protect the Los Angeles community.”
The “Texas Hold ’Em” singer added in the caption that her BeyGood foundation has set up an LA Fire Relief Fund and donated $2.5 million to “directly support families who lost their homes and community organizations at the forefront of relief.”
“Please join us in supporting with whatever you can,” she added.
Shortly before her decision to postpone the announcement, Beyoncé shared news about the donation to LA relief funds via the foundation’s Instagram page.
“Los Angeles, we stand with you. ... The fund is earmarked to aid families in the Altadena/Pasadena area who lost their homes, and to churches and community centers to address the immediate needs of those affected by the wildfires,”
the BeyGood caption reads.
Fans have been eagerly waiting (and speculating) over what Beyoncé’s major announcement could be since she teased the date in a cryptic Instagram video on Christmas Day after delivering a sizzling halftime performance during Netflix’s “NFL Christmas Gameday.”
In the clip, she appeared in an all-white outfit while sitting atop a white horse and waving a giant American flag as the date “1.14.25” appeared on the screen.
“Look at that horse,” the songwriter simply captioned her post.
Though fans will now have to hold tight before hearing the announcement, many people on X, formerly Twitter, have speculated Beyoncé will announce a tour in support of her eighth studio album, “Cowboy Carter.”
