With a trail of chips, of course.

Selena Gomez has made no secret of her love of Taco Bell, from enjoying nights in with Benny Blanco and her fast food favorites to incorporating the chain’s nachos and Mexican pizza into her idyllic picnic proposal. Coming off the heels of their engagement, the record producer pulled out all the stops for Valentine’s Day as he shared a very Taco Bell-coded riff on chocolate fondue and rose petals. Blanco surprised Gomez with a bathtub full of melted nacho cheese, with a trail of chips leading to the display.
“When your fiancé isn’t much of a flowers girl,” Blanco captained an Instagram Reels post shared on February 14. He showed how he played into Gomez’s love of nachos by swapping out a trail of rose petals for a trail of chips on the ground, which led into a marble bathroom and a display made out of chips that read, “I love you.” However, his biggest Valentine’s Day project was in the corner: A bathtub full of melted queso with an aesthetic marble side table next to it that held a basket of even more chips. Blanco kept his expression serious as he followed the chip trail to the tub, dipped one of the chips into the vat of cheese, and took a crunchy bite. Meanwhile, the couple's new track “Scared of Loving You” played in the background, teasing their upcoming I Said I Love You First album together.

Gomez was clearly a fan of the personalized fondue surprise, as she commented, “I love everything bout this..” with a smiling heart emoji on Blanco’s Instagram post.

It’s actually not the first time that Blanco has made Gomez a Taco Bell-coded spread for Valentine’s Day. In his People’s 2024 Sexiest Man Alive issue interview, the musician revealed that while he and Gomez love an extravagant date night–he recounted the time the “Good For You” singer had rented out an entire botanical garden on a whim for them–she also “likes something so simple.”

“For Valentine's Day, I got her Taco Bell,” he told the publication in November. “I made her movie-theater nachos, I found her favorite pickles from Texas and I deep-fried them for her. Then [I had] all her candies and Hot Cheetos." Based on his video, it looks like Blanco is keeping the tradition going while one-upping his Valentine’s Day efforts from last year.
