Ben Foster Files for Divorce from Wife Laura Prepon After 5 Years of Marriage
The 'X Men: The Last Stand' actor noted their date of separation as Sept. 9, 2023 and cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason behind their separation
Laura Prepon and Ben Foster are going their separate ways after five years of marriage.
According to paperwork obtained by PEOPLE, Foster, 44, filed for divorce from the That ’70s Show star, also 44, and cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason behind their separation. He stated the two were no longer able to "live together successfully as husband and wife."
The X Men: The Last Stand actor noted the former couple's date of separation as Sept. 9, 2023, and asked the court to enforce their 2018 prenuptial agreement and make an "equitable division" of their marital assets and debt.
Foster also requested the court to incorporate their "marital dissolution agreement and agreed parenting plan" into their final decree of divorce. When it comes to their attorney fees, the actor asked for each party to pay their own fees and divide any other court costs equally.

In April 2019, the actress opened up about how she and Foster balanced their careers and being parents. On a segment of The MOMS, the Orange Is The New Black star revealed that she “had to get back to work really quickly” after giving birth.
“Ben and I are really great about if I’m at work, he’s [at home], and if he’s at work, I’m [at home],” she said. “[But] I do feel guilty, and I just know that [Ella would] be proud if she knew. I’ve talked to a bunch of women [asking], ‘How do you do this?’ And they’re just like, ‘There’s really no solution. You just do it.’ ”
