‘Beef’: William Fichtner, Mikaela Hoover, Seoyeon Jang & Rapper BM Join Season 2 Of Netflix Series

EXCLUSIVE: Netflix has added Seoyeon Jang (Butterfly), William Fichtner (Mom, The Talamasca), Mikaela Hoover (Superman, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3) and musician BM — in his acting debut — to the Season 2 cast of Beef, its award-winning anthology series from Lee Sung Jin and A24. American-born, Korea-based BM is known as leader of the K-Pop co-ed group KARD and his solo rap career.

The quartet rounds out the cast, joining previously announced stars Carey Mulligan, Oscar Isaac, Charles Melton, Cailee Spaeny, Youn Yuh-jung and Song Kang-Ho.

The new installment centers on a young couple (Spaeny, Melton) who witness an alarming fight between their boss (Isaac) and his wife (Mulligan), triggering chess moves of favors and coercion in the elitist world of a country club and its Korean billionaire owner (Youn).

Character details are being kept under wraps. BM is believed to be playing a former tennis pro running the tennis shop at the country club. Jang is said to be playing the billionaire owner’s personal translator. Fichtner is believed to be playing a wealthy country club member with Hoover as his trophy wife.

The first season of Beef, starring Steven Yeun and Ali Wong, premiered in 2023 and went on to win a slew of awards including eight Emmys, four Critics Choice trophies, three Golden Globes, two Gotham Awards, two Film Independent Spirit Awards, two SAG Awards, as well as PGA, WGA and AFI Honors.

The upcoming installment will consist of eight 30-minutes episodes with Lee Sung Jin returning as creator, showrunner and executive producer. Yeun, Wong, Jake Schreier, Kitao Sakurai, Ethan Kuperberg, Anna Ouyang Moench, Mulligan, Isaac, Melton and Spaeny also executive produce. A24 is the studio.
