So how can you create her regal look at home? Yahoo7 Lifestyle spoke to Richard Ward, the talented hairdresser behind Middleton's highly sought after luscious brunette locks, who has been styling the family's illustrious mane's for years and even co-created her now iconic 'Chelsea blow-dry' for her 2011 wedding to Prince William.

According to Ward, if you're lusting after Kate Middleton's mane, her secret lies in the Chelsea blow-dry.

"What the Chelsea blow-dry means to me is beautiful finished, aspirational, rich girl looking hair," Ward said.

"It’s all about getting the hair in good enough condition and you can’t get it without the Chelsea blow-dry.

"But you can’t just achieve it just from products - you have to have the basic knowledge on how to do that at home.

"The products will get you 50-60% of the way."

First Ward washes the hair, making sure it's in tip-top condition before he works his magic.

Then he parts the hair into sections and rubs on a dab of argan oil.

"For every blow-dry I use my anti-aging argon Alexia. Straight argon oil is all 'fur coat and no knickers' - people can get in a real mess in it," he said.

"You need just a couple of drops in your hand.

"Rub these products in like a hand cream before you apply to your hair."

Next apply a root lifting spray to the hair, however do not spray like a mist - instead spray it straight on to the roots and comb or brush it through.

Ward says the biggest mistake people make when blow-drying their own hair is rough drying it too much.

"You need to blow-dry your hair from 75% wet," he said.

"You need to do it in a controlled way. Work your fingers through the hair - do not spray the hair dryer through it."

And Ward's golden rule? Always use a nozzle.

"The most important thing is buy a hairdryer as good as you can afford. The best ones are sold in salon," he said.

"Always use a nozzle, it concentrates the heat and forces the cuticles to shine and that's what gives it that glossy finish"

The celebrity hair stylist also recommends using a real bristle brush when blow-drying your hair, as it created tension in the air, which is needed to create the perfect Kate Middleton blow-dry.

As for hair trends for 2016, Ward counts 'lobs', short bobs, 'gringes' and plaits as huge players in the hair business.

"The gringe "the grown out fringe" is very versatile, it can give a bit of softness around the face," Ward said.

"I very, very rarely do it on someone that they don’t like it. Someone like her (Kate) just brings it to people’s attention."

Taylor Swift, Anne Hathaway and Helen Mirren are also shaping 2016's hair landscape with their chic, short bobs.

"They can be dressed up or dressed down. It’s such an iconic classic hair do," he said.
