Beauty and the Geek winner Lachy's bold on-air proposal for Jackie O
Fresh from taking out the top spot on Beauty and the Geek with blonde beauty Kiera Johnstone, Lachlan 'Lachy' Mansell's star is continuing to rise.
The 32-year-old motor racing fan has landed a new gig as a fill-in producer on the country's number one radio program, KIIS FM's The Kyle & Jackie O Show.
Lachy's new gig
Lachy clearly impressed in a radio announcing challenge during his time on BATG and was snapped up as a temporary replacement for 'Intern Pete' Deppeler who is currently on long-service leave.
Lachy's first day on Monday morning was commemorated in several videos uploaded to the show's Instagram Stories, which showed him seated at his new desk in the studio.
"Hey guys, it's Lachy here from Beauty and the Geek," he said while wearing a face mask.
"[I'm] super pumped to be starting my new role as assistant producer here on The Kyle and Jackie O Show."

Later, hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie 'O' Henderson pulled him in for an on-air chat in which Kyle grilled Lachy for arriving a little too early for his first shift.
"I heard you were here at 4.30[am] just sitting in your car waiting for someone to arrive," Kyle said.
"4.45[am]," Lachy corrected. "I'm enthusiastic. I wanted to make sure I'm well-prepared."
Kyle then poked fun at the framed photo and Supercar lanyards that Lachy had brought in to 'add some character' to his workspace.
"P*ss all that sh*t off mate, we're not having all that in here," he said in mock outrage.
Geek's eye on Jackie O
Jackie O, however, thought it was rather sweet which may have given Lachy the courage to shoot his shot with the mum-of-one.
"Would Jackie O date me?" Lachy asked later in the conversation much to Kyle's delight. "Am I your sort of guy?" he added.
"Are you my sort of guy?" the 46-year-old responded before bursting into giggles.
Despite winning the show as a couple and pocketing a cool $100,000 cash prize, Lachy later clarified that he and Kiera remained just friends on the Channel Nine show.
"It was just a friendship," he said in a post-show interview. "The closest we got [to being more than friends] was during the Magic Mike challenge."
