Band’s move amid shock disappearance
A popular Sydney-based punk band has issued a desperate plea to fans as the search for their missing mate continues.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Speed shared that their upcoming shows in NSW and Canberra had been postponed as their close friend is missing.
“Our brother Aje (Chang-Wook Yeo) has been missing since 3.45pm 6/1/2025,” the post read.
“A search by local authorities has been stopped today due to the weather, so please be careful if around that area due to the terrain and potential danger.”
They have postponed five shows across NSW and Canberra as they continue to aid search efforts in Sydney’s Blue Mountains.
Mr Yeo was last seen at hanging Rock in the Blue Mountains region, where his phone and other personal belongings were found.
The band also warned that further shows scheduled later in the month in Adelaide and Victoria may be in limbo, with the post thanking fans “For your patience and understanding in this difficult time.”
Mr Yeo or “Aje” is described as a short Asian male, typically dressed in baggy clothes with glasses.
The bands plea also noted that “He speaks Korean and English.
“He lives in Sydney in Lidcombe so please keep an eye out in these areas too.”
Fans were quick to offer their support to the band, which is known for its cult following in Australia’s hard core punk rock community.
“Our community stands next to you, boys. No matter what. Stand Strong and let us know if there’s any other way we can help,” one fan commented.
“Exactly. HC [hard core] community right here with you all.”, another added in reply.
The shows affected were scheduled between January 7-12 at various venues across NSW and Canberra.
