‘Bad Boys’ Star Alexander Ludwig Boards Horror Thriller ‘Night Comes’ From Jay Hernandez
EXCLUSIVE: After a successful summer with Bad Boys: Ride or Die, Alexander Ludwig has been tapped to star alongside Dafne Keen and Samantha Lorraine in Night Comes, the forthcoming horror thriller marking the feature directorial debut of veteran actor Jay Hernandez (Suicide Squad).
Details as to Ludwig’s role are being kept under wraps. Drawing inspiration from films like Birdbox and The Descent, Night Comes unfolds against the backdrop of a cataclysmic event that threatens to engulf humanity. Two sisters manage to escape the horror only to find themselves thrust into a perilous struggle for survival, tasked with a mission that holds the fate of mankind in the balance.

Written by Hernandez, Jason Bourque and Nancy Isaak, the indie hails from Impossible Dream Entertainment and Big Picture Cinema Group, the latter of which is co-financing with Versatile Media. Impossible Dream’s Shaun Redick (Get Out, Day Shift) and Yvette Yates Redick (Day Shift, upcoming Lost & Found in Cleveland) will produce alongside Big Picture Cinema Group’s Jayce Barriero and Jacky Lai, with Hernandez, Keen, Jared Zhang, Graem Luis, Jason Bourque, Joseph Tuck, Steve Read and Matthew Chow exec producing.
Production kicks off in Vancouver in September. The Exchange is handling worldwide sales and will be introducing the project to buyers at the upcoming Toronto Film Festival.
Stated Big Picture’s Co-Founder and President, Barreiro, “Alexander has so much range and gravitas – it’s going to be fun for audiences to see the depths he goes to opposite Dafne and Samantha on this intense ride.”
As previously mentioned, Ludwig is coming off of Bad Boys: Ride or Die, the fourth installment of the buddy cop action franchise from Sony, starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence. In it, he reprised his role as Dorn, tech expert for Advanced Miami Metro Operations, which he originated in 2020’s Bad Boys for Life. One of the summer’s big hits, the film grossed over $401 million worldwide.
In film, Ludwig’s other credits include Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant, The Hunger Games and Lone Survivor, to name just a few. Also known for roles in Starz’s wrestling drama Heels and History Channel’s Vikings, the actor is represented by Gersh and Untitled Entertainment.
