Angie Kent has suffered a devastating loss after both her childhood friend and their baby sadly passed away earlier this week.

The former Bachelorette star took to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday to pay tribute to Brooke Marsay and her son Max, who appears to have passed away a few days before his mother.

'Life is so precious'

In her post, the 31-year-old reflected on the unpredictability of life, which may suggest that her friend's death came as a shock.

"Life is so precious. So unpredictable and can be so confusing and debilitating at times," Angie captioned a smiling photo of Brooke.

"This beautiful woman and her baby are now in heaven," she added. "Hold your loved ones so close."

Angie encouraged her followers to not take life for granted 'even when days can be so painful'.

"Love to you sweet angel and to your friends and family. Your smile will forever be imbedded [sic] in our memories and hearts," she finished.

Angie did not disclose Brooke or her son's cause of death.

Tragic loss

In another post, Angie shared several throwback photos of herself with Brooke and their school friends dressed in dance costumes.

"I want to remember you in all our dancing glory," she wrote. "A little trip down memory lane tonight.

"Reach out to the people you grew up with who made your heart smile. Precious memories."

Angie also urged people to donate to the annual Dry July campaign which raises funds for people affected by cancer. Angie herself is participating in the no-alcohol month, writing, "Too many people are losing to cancer."

The Gogglebox fan favourite has been keeping busy of late working on her new podcast, Angie Tries It where she explores wacky and often taboo topics such as dream therapy, BDSM and laughter yoga.

Angie and her Bachelorette beau, Carlin Sterritt fell in love on the 2019 season of the show but parted ways during the coronavirus lockdown in July last year.
