Bachelorette Brooke Blurton opens up after heartbreaking family tragedy
Brooke Blurton has taken to social media to admit that she’s close to a ‘nervous breakdown’ while planning her sister’s funeral.
The 26-year-old revealed earlier this month that she learnt about her sister’s passing while she was filming the upcoming season of The Bachelorette and stuck in Sydney’s lockdown.
Thankfully, Brooke was supported by friends and the show’s production team and returned to Perth to mourn with her family after spending two weeks in quarantine.
The reality TV star has now opened up on Instagram about how she’s been coping with so many huge changes occurring in her life.
“Just going to be real with you all today because organising a f**king funeral is hard,” she told her followers.

“If I’ve not already been on an emotional rollercoaster for the last ten weeks, on top of then organising your sister’s funeral, it’s f**ked.
“I’m probably like one trigger away from a f**king nervous breakdown, but we all good.”
In a follow-up story, Brooke showed off the ‘stress rash’ that she has recently developed on her face and added that she’s managed to find ‘silver linings’ to the situation.
“My family fly in today which I’m really excited about. I’ll feel less alone in the process,” she said.
The Bachelorette’s emotional Instagram stories come shortly after she got caught up in a rather unfortunate incident on Monday night.
“I went to go grab my UberEats and I accidentally locked myself out of my house,” she detailed on her social media. “But I ate my whole pizza. Day one out of quarantine.
“Quite ironic that I’ve been locked in the house for like 14 days and then I got locked out.”
After failing to find love on The Bachelor with the Honey Badger and again on season two of Bachelor In Paradise, Brooke is set to make history as the first-ever pansexual Bachelorette and the series’ first Indigenous lead.
“I am so ready for this,” she said alongside the announcement in May.
“I’ve done it twice before and now, having the opportunity to choose my person and who I want in my life, is a truly unique and special experience.”
