With less than 10 wedding guests, the actress tied the knot at Universal Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New York
How to Get Away with Murder alum Amirah Vann is married!
During her appearance on the Sherri talk show on Thursday, Jan. 30, the 44-year-old actress revealed that she recently married her longtime love Patrick Oyeku in an "intimate" church wedding ceremony in Brooklyn, New York.
Host Sherri Shepherd, 57, asked Vann if she was tired of people wondering when she was getting married. In response, Vann replied that "they ain't got to say that no more" before excitedly flashing her new sparkling ring on that finger.
"We's married!" Vann exclaimed.
She gushed over her husband and added that she enjoys being a married woman.
"I love it. Let's just say I don't need no more turmeric," she said. "There's going to be all kinds of necessities with this hand now."
Shepherd joked that she was blinded by the new diamond.
"I'll tell you what I need is some pills 'cause my head is blurring. It's just so bright and shiny, I love it," she said.
Married life is "wonderful" for Vann, who stars in Fox's new medical drama series Doc. She noted that her wedding was small and sweet, just the way she wanted it.
"Everyone just already assumed we were married and we hadn't done it, and we just finally- we were like it's time to," Vann said. "It was so simple, less than 10 people were there. It was like, you know, our parents are getting older, and that was the biggest thing for me. I wanted the elders there."
"We did it in my church that I grew up in, in Brooklyn Universal Baptist Church," she continued. "The pastor brought me home from the hospital so he's my godfather too."

Vann never wanted an extravagant wedding.
"Everything is so big and we love it and appreciate the glam, but I wanted that day to be actually more intimate and quiet," she said. "I was like I don't need all this. My life is this. For that was us."
Last summer, Vann and Oyeku welcomed their second child together. Daughter Zoë Oyeku joined big sister Nyla, who turns 4 in February.
"Our hearts are full. This summer, Zoë Oyeku arrived. Grateful to God for every smile, cuddle and 3 AM feeding," they told PEOPLE exclusively in October 2024.
"We love you so much and your sisters are thrilled. Life just got that much sweeter and purpose that much clearer. Que Dios te bendiga mi amor."
