Australian fans 'devastated' as Rebel Wilson's book release 'delayed' indefinitely
Rebel Rising was set for release this week, however, the book has been delayed with no new date set.
Rebel Wilson's highly anticipated memoir Rebel Rising was set for release in Australia today, April 3, but has been 'delayed', with fans taking to the star's social media accounts to share their disappointment as their pre-orders were cancelled.
Fans were confused after receiving refunds, with no explanation given as to why the book was no longer available to purchase.
Rebel Rising 'delayed' indefinitely
Some fans attempting to purchase the book in Australia online were met with 404 errors, while the Amazon Australia website simply tells customers, "We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock".
In a statement to Yahoo Lifestyle, HarperCollins AU, the local publisher of the book, said: "Publication of Rebel Rising has been delayed but we have no further comment."
Fans left 'devastated'
Posting from the US on Tuesday (local time), Rebel shared a snap of herself with two copies of the book, with the caption reading, "REBEL RISING is OUT today! Grab a copy at your local BARNES & NOBLE 📚."
"We can’t get them in Australia," one confused user commented.
"You went on talk TV to promote the book, said it would be out on April 2nd, it’s now April 3rd here in Aus and not a single retailer is selling it. Please explain 😠," an angry fan added.

"I pre-ordered a copy from Big W in [Australia] and recently received a refund and notification that they were no longer stocking the book," another said. "Devastated!"
"This happened to me too! I can’t see it available anywhere in Aus now 😢," a third said, adding their order from Booktopia had been cancelled.
"I'm in Australia and can't get a copy," one Facebook fan wrote. "Just went to my local book store and they said it has been recalled to be possibly re-printed and have parts redacted!"
One New Zealand-based fan suggested there may be legal reasons for the book's delayed release in some countries, "I tried in NZ but was told it had been pulled for legal reasons (Whitcolls NZ)."
It appears that the book is also delayed in New Zealand and the UK.
Rebel Wilson's shock Sacha Baron Cohen claims
The delay comes after Rebel last month teased the book's content and made allegations about Sacha Baron Cohen's behaviour on set. Rebel told her Instagram followers she has a "no a**holes" policy when it comes to work, saying, "I worked with a massive a**hole and, yeah, now I definitely have a no a**holes policy," before adding that the chapter about that person was Chapter 23.
"Do you wanna know why I have a 'no a**holes' policy now with people I work with? …Well it’s all in the book: REBEL RISING available for pre-order now (drops April 2nd, link in bio)…oh and YES I name the asshole!" she wrote alongside the video.
She later named her The Brothers Grimsby co-star, saying he was allegedly attempting to stop her from writing about him.
The Bridesmaids actress claimed that Sacha had tried to stop the publication by "hiring a crisis PR team and lawyers".
A spokesperson for Sacha was quick to respond to the allegations in a statement that read, "While we appreciate the importance of speaking out, these demonstrably false claims are directly contradicted by extensive detailed evidence, including contemporaneous documents, film footage, and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during and after the production of The Brothers Grimsby."
It's unclear if the delay in the release of Rebel's memoir is in relation to her claims about Sacha.
