Aussie band Royel Otis' cover of 'Murder on The Dancefloor' goes viral

The song will be available to stream on January 29.

An Aussie band is going viral on TikTok after covering Sophie Ellis Bextor's hit '00s song 'Murder on the Dancefloor' on Triple J's Like A Version.

Royel Otis, a pop-rock duo made up of Royel Maddell and Otis Pavlovic, has over three million views on TikTok and counting after giving Sophie Ellis Bextor's classic pop hit an electronic rock makeover. The song recently gained popularity again and a newfound fanbase after featuring in the final scene of Saltburn.

The cover has blown up online, especially on TikTok, with many fans begging the duo to put the song on Spotify and Apple Music - with the band confirming it'd be on streaming services as of January 29.

"This scratches an itch I didn't know I had," one fan commented.

"OK Royel Otis, I was not familiar with your game, but I am here and listening," a new fan said.

G Flip's cover of Taylor Swift hit goes viral

Royel Otis' Like A Version success comes quick off the heels of Aussie musician G Flip's cover of Taylor Swift's smash hit 'Cruel Summer'.

With over 6.7 million views on TikTok, G Flip's cover saw them smash out the bridge of the song while playing the drums, winning over a legion of new fans with their talent.

"Cruel Summer, but make it gay," G Flip captioned the video.

"Artists that can sing while drumming are honestly a different breed. You rock!" one person said. "G FLIP FOR THE ERAS TOUR OPENER," another fan begged.

"Best Like a Version ever," another fan said. "Best Cruel Summer cover EVER 😍 Definitely, 10000% approved by Swifties," another person said.

G Flip confirmed over the weekend you can now stream their cover on Spotify.
