Ashley Park Gives the Cutout Trend a Sultry ‘Brat’ Twist in Germanier Feather and Sequin Dress at the Glamour Women of the Year Award in Berlin

Ashley Park has officially entered her “Brat” era. The “Emily in Paris” star attended the Glamour Women of the Year Awards in Berlin on Tuesday evening, choosing a sultry cutout dress with feathered “Brat” green detailing for the event honoring the achievements of Kesha, Park and other women in the entertainment industry.

For the occasion, Park drew runway inspiration from Germanier’s spring 2023 ready-to-wear collection. The sequined dress featured a sultry half-halter neckline that wrapped around her neck and swooped across one side of the bodice, revealing a daring cutout. Faux black and “Brat” green feathers adorned the opposite side of the bodice, trailing down the thigh-high slit of the sequined skirt.

She completed the look with a black coat featuring faux fur on the collar, draped off her shoulders, and black pointed-toe heels with an ankle wrap.

For her glam, Park chose a minimalist look, allowing the dress to take center stage. She styled her hair in a high ponytail, revealing dainty earrings.

“The Paris-based designer also wanted to show upcycling as a lifestyle, adding seats reworked with lengths of colorful fabric or covered in beads for his front row guests — they were all already sold to collectors,” Lily Templeton said in her review of Germanier’s collection at the time.

Upcycling is having a moment. Miu Miu just released its 2024 Upcycled Holiday campaign, featuring “The Crown” actor Emma Corrin modeling new eco-friendly fashions including knitwear, kilts and leather outerwear. Uniqlo collaborated with FIDM students on an upcycled denim collection for its fall 2024 collection. Stella McCartney, a pioneer in sustainable fashion, along with Proenza Schouler, Grace Ling and others, have also featured upcycled textiles in their recent collections.
