Yahoo Lifestyle Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Applies 2025 Vanguard Award To RCMA Makeup
The Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild will present its 2025 Vanguard to the Research Council of Makeup Artists during the MUAHS Awards next month. RCMA Makeup is being honored for its significant contributions to the make-up and hair styling industry that has left a lasting impact on the craft.
The group will be feted at the 12th annual Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards on February 15 at the Fairmont Century Plaza Hotel.

“This year we are honoring the legacy of the RCMA, a pillar in the make-up and hair styling community for over 60 years” MUAHS President Julie Socash said in a statement. “Their products have been used by many of our members, enhancing the creative designs of iconic characters in film, television and theater.”
The Research Council of Makeup Artists was organized to serve the betterment of professional makeup in the film, TV and stage industries. In doing so, founder Vincent J.R. Kehoe developed and designed Color Process Foundation, a special foundation formula for professional makeup artists that still is considered the top choice for professionals today.
Added RCMA co-owners JR and Christian Kehoe: “We are profoundly honored to accept this award on behalf of our grandfather, Vincent J.R. Kehoe, the visionary founder of The Research Council of Makeup Artists. This recognition would have meant the world to him, as it reflects the values which he dedicated his life to — elevating the artistry and education of the makeup industry while providing innovative products through RCMA.”
They added: “For 62 years, RCMA has been a steadfast presence in makeup kits around the world, and we are humbled to continue his legacy of excellence and passion. This moment is a tribute not just to Vincent’s pioneering spirit but to all the makeup artists — past, present and future — who inspire and drive our commitment to this craft.”
MUAHS said earlier that Emmy-winning make-up artist Todd McIntosh (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Memoirs of a Geisha) and hair stylist Peter Tothpal (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines) will Lifetime Achievement Awards. The group’s Distinguished Artisan honoree will be announced shortly.
The MUAHS Awards recognize excellence in the artistry and creativity of make-up artists and hair stylists in 23 categories across film, TV, music videos and theater entertainment. This year, the union — IATSE Local 706 — has added Broadway and international productions to its theatrical categories.
