Ariana Grande Wore the Most Ethereal Sheer Princess Gown

Don't worry, there's still a nod to Glinda/Galinda.

The Wicked press tour hasn't even officially begun yet (or have we been elbows-deep in it all along?), but Ariana Grande and her co-star, Cynthia Erivo, have been serving up Oz-inspired looks left and right. Last night, at the WSJ. Magazine Innovator Awards, the pop star and actress skipped out on the pink, but still managed to pay homage to her role of Glinda/Galinda in the highly anticipated adaptation.

Grande arrived at the event in a corseted Vivienne Westwood gown with white floral detail on its sheer fabric, making for an ethereal and angelic look thanks to the layers and layers of material and intricate embroidery. She gown featured a strapless neckline and and exaggerated hips, which looked as floaty and airy as the bubble that her character rides in the Broadway musical.

To finish the look, Grande pulled her hair back into a bun and added a sparkling diamond necklace with a bow detail. Her manicure was a rounded pink-and-white French tip and her Glinda tattoo (which is an illustration from L. Frank Baum's original The Wonderful Wizard of Oz book) was on full display, as well.

“I waited forever to fill up this hand. And I thought, 'I'm gonna wait for the right thing to come along,' and yeah, that felt very right,” Grande said of the piece last year.

Wicked arrives in theaters on November 22, but the film will be split in two parts, with the second hitting the big screen next year.
