Ariana Grande Wears Blush Pink Vivienne Westwood Ball Gown to 'Wicked' Premiere

On Saturday night, Ariana Grande stunned on the Wicked premiere red carpet in a blush pink Vivienne Westwood Couture gown in Sydney, Australia. The ball gown was constructed from layers of pink tulle and covered in peach crystal details forming a Starburst form, originally drawn by Westwood and frequently seen in her collections since 2010. The bodice was constructed from a corset and had voluminous transparent sleeves that then went down to Grande’s wrists.

The skirt trailed all the way down to the floor in a cascading waterfall of fabric. The star wore her gown with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry, including a butterfly choker and diamond earrings.

Her costar Cynthia Erivo was wearing a similarly dramatic look from Louis Vuitton. Erivo’s sleeveless black gown also trailed behind her and featured a massive bow that created a sculptural silhouette. She wore a choker of black fabric with a silver and diamond pendant at the center. She accessorized with iridescent green sunglasses, silver earrings and statement rings, and a gorgeous green gel manicure.

The two actresses have said they’ve become quite close since they started filming Jon M. Chu’s adaptation of the hit Broadway musical. Grande appeared on the Nov. 1 episode of Broadway Podcast Network’s Sentimental Men podcast, saying that before they were cast, they did not do a chemistry read. But, she said that they promised to “know each other in that way, where I can just look at her and I know what she’s thinking… because without that, nothing else works.”
