Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater Go Christmas Tree Shopping in N.Y.C.: 'They're Adorable' (Exclusive Source)

Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater are getting ready for Christmas in New York City.

As their film Wicked, along with Moana 2 and Gladiator II, helped spark the biggest Thanksgiving weekend box office of all time over the weekend, Grande, 31, and boyfriend Slater, 32, browsed Christmas trees in New York, where a fan took a photo with the couple and shared it on Instagram Saturday.

"They were both super sweet. i don’t remember much because i was so excited but they were really really nice as i just lovebombed them for about a minute," the fan wrote in a comment, in response to another person who asked what their interaction was like.

A source who also saw Grande and Slater during the outing tells PEOPLE they were "walking arm in arm in Central Park, bundled up against the cold."

"They're adorable and seemed to be enjoying some quiet time together after the success of Wicked," added the source.

Wicked made $114 million in its first weekend in theaters following its Nov. 22 release. Just 10 days into its theatrical run, the movie is already the seventh-highest grossing film of 2024 so far at the domestic box office, per Box Office Mojo.

In Wicked, Slater portrays Boq, one of Grande's character Glinda's classmates at Shiz University.

PEOPLE confirmed Slater and Grande were dating in July 2023, some six months after production on Wicked first began. This came after Grande separated from her ex-husband, Dalton Gomez, and Slater separated from his ex-wife, Lilly Jay.

In an Oct. 30 interview with GQ, Slater said he is "really proud" of Grande's work in the film.

"She’s poured herself into it," the Broadway actor said, adding that he was "really excited to be there for this next step of it when the world gets to see the amazing thing that she did.”

“He’s always adorable, and he’s so amazing in this film, he’s such an amazing person," Grande told Entertainment Tonight of Slater at the movie's Los Angeles premiere Nov. 9. "I’m so happy people are getting to know him. My heart is very happy.”

Wicked is in theaters now.
