Anne Hathaway and Cillian Murphy ‘Move Beyond the Ordinary’ in New Versace Icons Campaign

Versace has unveiled its latest Icons campaign, featuring Academy Award winners Anne Hathaway and Cillian Murphy. The campaign marks Hathaway’s return to her role with the brand and reintroduces Murphy as the face of Versace’s inaugural Icons line for men, first announced last April.

Captured by photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the black-and-white portraits showcase the latest looks from the Versace Icons Collection featuring metal mesh, leather and sharp tailoring — what Donatella Versace distills as “timeless, powerful, iconic.”

In her portrait, Hathaway wears a shimmering ensemble with chain detailing on the straps. With minimal makeup and her hair styled in a messy updo, the image allows the top to take center stage.

The range includes an evening dress crafted from a lighter variant of Versace’s signature metal mesh, the Medusa ’95 bags in patent leather with crocodile embossing, and tailored coats and jackets in fine grain de poudre wool.

“Versace is more than brilliant prints, powerful tailoring, and its iconic legacy — it’s a dream realized, an invitation to move beyond the ordinary and live as though the everyday was exceptional,” Hathaway said. “I’m so grateful to Donatella Versace for seeing me in this collection; truly she sees me even more clearly than I see myself.”

Versace’s Icons collection also includes dresses in jersey or printed silk, bustier tops adorned with gold Medusa ’95 details and knitwear featuring the Barocco in maxi jacquard. Murphy models sleeveless knitwear, casually draping a coat over his shoulder.

“I really feel comfortable wearing the pieces from this Versace Icons collection,” Murphy said. “When you see, feel and wear the clothes, it’s immediately clear that these are pieces of design with a sense of heritage, craftsmanship, and a real strength of character that is, for me, truly Versace.”

The Versace Icons collection was announced in April 2023. Hathaway starred in similar images for the announcement. “I am a huge fan of her work, of course, but more than that, I admire her as a woman,” Versace said of Hathaway’s debut. “She is a huge star, she is a businesswoman, she is creative, and she is exceptionally kind. That is what makes a Versace Icon.”
