Blake Lively Made Her First Public Remarks Since The Justin Baldoni "It Ends With Us" Lawsuit
Unless you've been living under a rock, you're aware of the ongoing legal battle between Blake Lively and It Ends With Us costar and director Justin Baldoni. If you need a refresher, we've got you covered right here.
You're also probably aware that Blake has a new movie coming soon — specifically, Another Simple Favor, the sequel to her and Anna Kendrick's 2018 hit A Simple Favor. The movie hits Amazon Prime Video on May 1.
Since filing her lawsuit against Justin, Blake has kept a pretty low profile in the public eye. You just haven't seen her around much, and that's probably a combination of wanting to avoid too much scrutiny (I mean, have you seen how people talk about this lawsuit online?) and, more likely, not having much to promote.
So, Another Simple Favor had its world premiere at SXSW in Austin, Texas last night — and Blake made her first red carpet appearance in support of the film. She pulled off two looks, starting with this translucent dress...
As well as this gown that was underneath the initial dress.
According to Variety, Blake largely avoided giving red carpet interviews, which makes sense all things considered. But before the film screened, she did make what are effectively her first public remarks — like, period — since the legal battle began.
Unsurprisingly, she did not address any of the legal matters, strictly sticking to discussion of Another Simple Favor and returning with Anna and director Paul Feig for the sequel.
“I love this character so much. It’s probably my favorite character I’ve ever been fortunate enough to play,” she said. “So when Paul asked us to come back, I was so excited.”
And that was it! I have to imagine she'll be doing more press in the lead-up to Another Simple Favor's release, so you can probably expect to hear more from Blake — if not about the lawsuit, then at least in general — at a later date.
