Anna Kendrick Admits That She Doesn’t Know How to Cook: Can't 'Do Anything Useful in Life’ (Exclusive)
“It's not a surprise to anybody that I'm kind of a lazy bones,” Kendrick quipped to PEOPLE while discussing her new campaign with Keurig
When Anna Kendrick isn’t bouncing around global movie sets, you can find her on her couch.
“I'm kind of a homebody. Either I'm out and working or I want to be a homebody,” the A Simple Favor 2 star tells PEOPLE during an interview promoting her new Keurig campaign.
But her precious time at home is meant for total relaxation – and that means staying out of the kitchen.
"I don't cook. I don't know how to," the Pitch Perfect star says with a laugh. “I really just don't know how to do anything useful in life.”
The Twilight alum, who is preparing to release her directorial debut, Woman of the Hour, explained that after working on a movie, all she wants to do is have a “bit of downtime.“
“Just staying put and staying in L.A., and just focusing on releasing the baby is the right thing to do,” Kendrick adds, “the baby” referring to her true-crime Netflix movie, premiering on Oct. 18.
She jokes that her love of being at home probably isn’t a shock to fans.
“It's not a surprise to anybody that I'm kind of a lazy bones, and so just convenience and ease is everything," she quips.
Between balancing shoots and press tours, Kendrick is Keurig’s “Iced at Home Ambassador,” which is a “natural partnership” for the self-proclaimed homebody. The star’s campaign highlights the coffee company’s new K-Brew+Chill, an iced coffee maker.
“It's perfect because it's so fast and, frankly, I get to stay in my house,” she says, explaining that the machine is ideal for her culinary abilities — or lack thereof. “I would definitely go out and get coffee or even order it in, so the fact that it's just kind of foolproof is perfect.”
2024 has been a busy year for Kendrick, who was spotted filming the A Simple Favor sequel in Italy this spring.
The costars Blake Lively and Kendrick were photographed in Capri, Italy, on April 3, filming a sunny wedding scene for A Simple Favor 2.
According to a synopsis, the comedy-thriller brings characters to "the beautiful island of Capri, Italy, for Emily’s extravagant wedding to a rich Italian businessman."
The first film was based on the 2017 novel by Darcy Bell, and the sequel's screenplay is by Jessica Sharzer.
