Angelina Jolie’s ‘diva demands’

Everything appeared perfect when Angelina Jolie and her six-strong brood posed up for cameras in Cambodia for the premiere of her new film, First They Killed My Father.

But behind the scenes, it was something of a logistical and financial nightmare, according to Hollywood Reporter.

Ange and two of her confidants reportedly suggested the location for the premiere be Angkor Wat, the sprawling ancient temple which holds the enviable title of the world’s largest religious monument.

It’s also a UNESCO World Heritage site which makes rolling out the red carpet and setting up lighting and sound, a much more complicated task.

One source even described it as Ange’s “Tropic Thunder moment”, according to Hollywood Reporter.

The whole saga was organised by Netflix, who forked out a reported AU$1.3 million to privately fly the star and her family over and fulfil their accommodation requirements.

Hollywood Reporter further claims that “Netflix was so willing to please its star that Jolie’s 15-year-old son, Maddox Jolie-Pitt, received an executive producer credit on the film.”

Maddox was adopted by Ange from Cambodia in 2002, when he was just seven months old.

The family’s trip was the first time Angelina has spoken publicly about her split from former husband Brad Pitt.

"I don’t want to say very much about that, except to say it was a very difficult time and we are a family, and we will always be a family," she told the BBC.

"Many, many people find themselves in this situation. My whole family have all been through a difficult time. My focus is my children, our children and my focus is finding this way through.”

"We are and forever will be a family and so that is how I am coping. I am coping with finding a way through to make sure that this somehow makes us stronger and closer,” she continued.
