Yahoo Lifestyle Alec and Hilaria Baldwin's Awkward Interview Has Fans Saying the Same Thing
As critics continue to question whether their new reality show was a good idea, Alec and Hilaria Baldwin raised eyebrows yet again with a recent red carpet appearance.
The couple stopped to chat with a reporter at the opening of Planet Hollywood in NYC on Tuesday, March 11—and the conversation got fans on TikTok talking about their dynamic, particularly the way Hilaria spoke to her husband during the interview.
When asked whether or not a second season of The Baldwins was in the cards, Alec jokingly corrected the reporter, saying, "The Hilaria Show."
"I think we're gonna see how it feels to have it be out there," Hilaria began, before Alec interjected.
"It's gonna be great. You're a winner," he told his wife.
"Oh my god, when I'm talking you're not talking. When I'm talking you're not talking," Hilaria said, prompting Alec to shoot a meaningful look at the camera.
"This is why, yes, we'll have to just cut him out of the show," Hilaria added, going on to say that The Baldwins is a "really raw show, and it's very real, and we took a lot of chances, and you know, I think that we'll see where it leads us, we'll see what it feels like to have it be out there, and then we'll see, you know, if people like it. That's another thing too."
When asked whether it was harder for him to memorize scripts or "be [himself]" on television, Alec said the latter was more difficult.
"It's so hard...I think it's because you don't want it to be dull," he said, adding, "If you showed the way our life really is, you'd get it after like an hour. It's like the same thing...not just with the two of us and our lives, but with the kids. We like routine, it's good for the kids to have a routine, and she, as a mother, is very good at keeping them on a routine...you feel the desire to make it more silly than it might be."
Hilaria took issue with her husband's confession.
"I have to say...I don't think you make it more silly than it is," she argued.
"I try. You didn't get that on the show?" Alec asked.
"No, we just cut that part out, when you're trying to make it silly, we cut it out," Hilaria said.

As the couple went on to talk about parenting, Alec took the opportunity to slip in a subtle dig at his wife's notorious "Spanish" accent.
"I think anybody who is a parent knows that routine is king...or queen...routine is key. It's king and queen at the same time," Hilaria said.
"It's essential," Alec offered, asking his wife,"What's the word for essential in Spanish?"
"Esencial," she shot back.
"Okay," Alec said, ever-so-subtly rolling his eyes at the camera.
As the interview continued, Hilaria chastised Alec for "distracting" her.
"I'm just captivated by your beauty, you're so beautiful," he said.
"Oh my god, stop, you're annoying me. Stop. It's not cute," she complained, threatening to "walk out" of the interview.
Commenters were aghast at the way Hilaria spoke to Alec.
"She is very rude to her husband in front of everyone," one person wrote.
"Wow, that was a very, very bad moment right there," a second fan agreed.
"she's horrible to him, never thought I would feel sorry for Alec," someone else chimed in, with another person calling Alec "a hostage."
"Lol, I think he's just over her complete rudeness and lack of respect," somebody pointed out, while another commenter joked, "Guess she's not going for likable."
"Without him, nobody would even know she existed," yet another TikTok user declared.
