Aldi shoppers warned about $40 item after near garden 'disaster': 'Use with caution'
Aldi shoppers are divided over whether a Special Buys multi-use product is worth the price tag.
Aldi shoppers have warned others about an electric weed gun, with some cautioning that the product has led to 'disaster' when it came to using it on their weeds.
One person took to an Aldi Facebook group to ask about the Special Buys electric weed killer/gun and whether it worked well. The product can also be used for lighting BBQs and is retailed at $39.99.
"Has anyone ever used an electric weed gun to burn weeds? I’ve read they don’t come back as it kills the roots unlike boiling water," the person asked. "Don’t want to waste my money if it’s a gimmick."

"Our neighbour has one and it’s awesome! They sprayed the weeds about a month again and so far they haven’t had any back," one person said.
"I just don’t like the smell of the weeds burning. Great on little weeds pointless on big ones easier to pull first," someone else shared. "The smell is why I don’t use it very often."
"Use with caution, Dad had one and Hubby, both had disasters," another warned. "Hubby did a weed at the base of a fence line with a wood support and didn't realise and ember had got in, the next morning we were left with a smouldering fence stump, which had burnt all night."

"Be aware of the danger, a friend of mine used it and the roots started smouldering underneath the stone pathway," someone else shared. "So another spot a few metres away, caught on fire a while later."
"I found it did not burn anything more than the tips, and it covered me in smoke so I needed to shower and wash my hair after," someone else commented. "But I bought a cheaper one online."
