Aldi launches $3.99 meal kits for quick and easy cooking

In an Australian-first, Aldi has thrown its hat into the ring with its debut meal kit range which hits stores today.

At just $3.99, Aldi's new cooking kits are being touted as a cheap and healthy way of getting dinner on the table in less than 30 minutes — and without breaking the bank.

In the kit, you'll find the fresh ingredients and a yummy sauce that you need to make crowd-pleasing dishes such as Pad Thai, Butter Chicken and Chilli Con Carne.

All you have to do is combine the kit with your choice of protein, such as chicken, beef or tofu, and a few extra key ingredients et voila, deliciousness awaits.

According to the Aldi website, a meal kit with feed a family of four for under $20 per meal, which works out to be $5 per person.

Scan the QR code on each meal kit to access the easy-to-follow recipe which also contains suggestions for optional sides and extras.

The kits are part of the store's core range and are not limited time only.

There's already been some positive buzz on social media after a handful of food and fitness influencers shared pics of their meal kit dishes on Instagram.

"OMG amazing! What a fantastic idea. I'm going to get some this week," wrote a fan.

"Wow that's so affordable, will have to go and check them out," added another.

Aldi's meal kits available in stores Australia-wide from now.
