Aldi sells coffee for 37 cents at first-ever corner store
Aldi is offering Melbourne customers a shopping experience like no other with the launch of its first-ever Victorian Corner Store.
From Thursday 8 September, Aldi will open the doors to the pop-up, which is located in the heart of the CBD at 501 Swanston St.
The Melbourne Corner Store will offer a curated Aldi experience to inner-city customers, who can enjoy the supermarket's range of ready-to-go meals, including sushi, sandwiches and artisan bakery items in-store.
In true Melbourne fashion, Aldi will welcome its first customers into the store with a celebratory cup of award-winning, barista brewed Lazzio coffee for only 37 cents.
The Lazzio coffee cart will be available to coffee drinkers in-store for a limited time only, from Thursday 8 September 8 to Friday 9 September – so shoppers can sip a cup of the brew while they browse Aldi's range of meals and Special Buys.
Unique pop-up experience
"We are so excited to bring a unique in-store pop-up to Melbourne for the launch of Victoria's first Corner Store," Varun Raheja, Aldi’s Buying Director, said.
"And who better to sample our coffee than the coffee aficionados of Melbourne's CBD – who have worked the formula of delicious coffee and impressive convenience down to a fine art?" he asked.

Aldi’s Lazzio coffee has received the Golden Bean Award for the past three consecutive years, as well as the Canstar Award for the Best Retail Coffee in Australia in 2022.
Mr Raheja said the supermarket was "confident our beans stack up and will impress the coffee-loving Melburnians."
What else is in the Aldi Corner Store?
Aldi customers can expect a convenience-led layout, with modern interiors, simple navigation and self-checkouts for a quick checkout experience.
At the bakery, Melbourne shoppers will find store exclusive Grain + Stone artisan sourdough, which is an Aldi-first and is baked locally in Victoria.
You can also enjoy Aldi's selection of cinnamon buns, croissants, fruit danishes, bacon and cheese, and ricotta and spinach baked goods.
As a tribute to Melbourne's renowned artistic community, the new store will feature a mural from acclaimed local artist George Rose.
Aldi to donate all Lazzio coffee profits to Camp Quality
All sales of Lazzio barista brewed coffees as part of this activation will be donated directly to Aldi's charity partner Camp Quality, which provides kids and families affected by cancer with fun experiences, trusted information, specialised care, coping tools and a supportive community.
Aldi encourages Melburnians to bring their own reusable coffee cup, as the supermarket will double their donation to Camp Quality for every re-usable cup brought to the store.
