Battle of the bed linen! Aldi and Kmart go head to head
If you’re looking for a good deal on linen, now’s the time to shop for it, as two of our biggest bargain retailers are going head to head with their offers.
Aldi have dropped their latest Special Buys catalogue and it includes great deals on organic cotton sheets, towels and even pyjamas.
Beginning Wednesday, June 19, the supermarket will be stocking queen sized organic cotton sheet sets, with a 375 thread count, for $60 in a range of colours including, white, sand and blue.
Luxury linen specialists, Sheridan, stock organic cotton sheet sets with a 400 thread count for $350 - although they’re currently marked down to $179.
As part of their latest Special Buys, Aldi will also be selling organic cotton bath towels for $10 each, and women’s PJ sets for $20, which is, disappointingly, more expensive than the $17 men’s version which appears to be almost identical aside from the colouring.
Competition from Kmart
On the same day Aldi released their upcoming bargains, Kmart headlined their own linen deal in their weekly newsletter to customers, promising ‘bedtime bliss’ with ‘our comfiest bed linen’.
Their offering prices queen sized bamboo cotton sheet sets, with a 300 thread count, at $50 - again in a range of colours.
Australian cotton towels got for $9 at the retailer.
If you’re shopping around, Target offer 1000 thread count cotton and polyester sheets for $99 for a queen sized bed.
