Ahsoka Season 2: Game of Thrones Alum Rory McCann to Succeed the Late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll

Baylan Skoll’s mysterious odyssey will continue in Ahsoka Season 2, now that Scottish Game of Thrones alum Rory McCann has been tapped to fill the role originated by the late Irish actor Ray Stevenson, who died in May 2023.

The recasting was first reported by The Insneider; TVLine has reached out to Disney+ for official confirmation.

Baylan Skoll’s mysterious side journey was hinted throughout Season 1 of the Disney+ series, with the Jedi-turned-mercenary revealing in Episode 6 that he felt something pulling him to remain on Peridea, and then deciding to pursue an undisclosed “path” in Episode 7 (of 8).

Given where we left off with the character in the Season 1 finale, it was obvious that Ahsoka creator Dave Filoni had planned to do much more Baylan Skoll, before Stevenson’s untimely passing.

In addition to his role as Sandor “The Hound” Clegane on HBO’s Game of Thrones, McCann’s previous TV credits include Prime Video’s Knuckles, BBC Two’s Banished and Paramount+’s Transformers: Earthspark (where the Scotsman voices no less than Megatron).

Ahsoka Season 2 is confirmed to begin filming in the spring.
