The 24-year-old singer and social media personality came dressed to impress at the 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards held at the Museum of Natural History in New York City on Monday, Oct. 28.

Rae wore a mermaid-inspired look — perfectly channeling her newest song "Aquamarine." Her dress consisted of a gray corseted top and a sequin-covered plaid mermaid skirt with a small train. She even carried a conch shell purse and completed her look with brand-new mermaid-perfect blonde hair in loose waves that looked like she just came out of the water.

The pop star's appearance at the CFDA Fashion Awards comes a few days after the release of her latest single, "Aquamarine," on Oct. 25. The song marks her second single since the release of her debut hit "Diet Pepsi," which dropped in August and topped the charts. The music video for her second track was super fashion-forward, including looks inspired by ’60s and ’70s icons like Jane Birkin and Brigitte Bardot, per Harper's Bazaar.

This year wasn't the first time Rae attended the intimate fashion ceremony, which celebrates the 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards winners and honorees including American designers, brands and organizations — in addition to international brands.

The social media star previously made an appearance at the 2022 CFDA Awards, wearing a hooded Gareth Pugh design with a dramatic black train. She completed her look with a classic black pump.

The bold, hooded ensemble was different from Rae's typical red carpet choices. The content creator explained her outfit decision when speaking with Vogue, saying at the time, "I don’t ever want to put myself in a box.”

She explained, "I love trying new things and taking risks." Later in her conversation with the fashion outlet, she called Pugh's designs "wearable pieces of art," adding, "The dress should be in a museum."

Rae's attendance at the 2024 CFDA Awards comes one month after her head-turning red carpet look at the MTV Video Music Awards held at New York's UBS Arena on Sept. 11 this year.

The singer stepped out in an all-white lingerie ensemble reminiscent of Madonna's 1984 VMAs performance, and the Queen of Pop's iconic 2003 recreation of the moment with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera.

"This ole thing? This is Miss Claire Sullivan, and it’s custom," Rae told MTV in an interview on the red carpet of the look: a white bra adorned with feathers, matching panties and a voluminous tulle skirt with more feathers.
