To be or not to be. No man is an island. Can #MomTok even survive this. All equally famous quotes that have had a profound impact on the human spirit, but perhaps none more so than the latter, which comes from Hulu’s delightful and some might say terrifying reality show, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.

And while you might think eight episodes is surely enough to spend on a group of Mormon wives going through a swinging scandal, it’s not, and whoever told you that is misinformed. Season 2 is an inevitability and a necessity, so here’s what we know about it.

Yes!!!! Variety made the official announcement on October 3 and noted that the series “has officially been renewed for 20 new episodes at Hulu, which means a second and possibly third season of the show.”

And while we don't have an official premiere date yet, Taylor Frankie Paul let it slip back in January that season 2 is expected to drop in May 2025.

How Did Season 1 End?

In case the memory of watching this show is nothing but a fever dream fueled by “Dirty Soda” (a combo of Diet Coke, coconut syrup, heavy cream, and...lime?), a quick refresher of the top notes:

  • Whitney Leavitt showed up to a rollerskating party after dramatically leaving the #MomTok group chat to try to mend fences with Mayci Neeley, but it didn’t exactly go well. The show ended with her ONCE AGAIN announcing she was taking a “step back” from the group and saying, “My parting words for #MomTok? Good luck without me.” Ooookay!

  • Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen welcomed their baby and seemed back on track with their relationship. Emphasis on seemed.

  • Jen Affleck left #MomTok because her husband Zac didn’t want her “associated” with the group. Meanwhile, the pair prepared for a move to NYC so Zac could pursue his medical dreams. No comment.

  • Mayci made a phone call that could “ruin people’s lives,” aka she tried to figure out whether Dakota cheated on Taylor.

There’s Some Drama Happening Right Now

Someone get production over to Utah because drama is brewing. Specifically, Taylor and Dakota are officially done, and she soft-launched the breakup via a TikTok of her dancing/crying. Ahem:

However! Taylor has confirmed she will be returning for the second season of the series, along with Mayci, Demi Engemann, Mikayla Matthews, Jessi Ngatikaura, and Layla Taylor. But where does that leave Whitney and Jen? Let's get into it...

Will Whitney Return for Season 2?

Yes, Whitney is coming back for season 2, and she confirmed the news herself in an iconic TikTok:

During an October 2024 appearance on Off the Vine With Kaitlyn Bristowe, Whitney shared her hopes for the second season, noting what planned to do differently. "What I really learned from this last season is I just wanna let go of what I can't control," she said. "I can't control what other women are gonna say or do or whatever, but, like, I control what I can control and I also don't wanna take things as personally as I did in the first season."

Mmkay!

Will Jen Return for Season 2?

Also yes, per People (despite Jen moving to New York City with Zac after the show wrapped filming...and all those breakup rumors...)

Another life update for Jen: In February 2025, she announced that she was expecting her third child with Zac, which has made filming for the second season tougher than expected. "Filming can be incredibly mentally draining, and adding pregnancy along with all the challenges I faced this last season was a big challenge," she told People. "After dealing with the backlash from season 1 and stepping into season 2 with a lot of baggage, this pregnancy has been the toughest."

May can't get here soon enough!!
