“We always love doing Halloween themed episodes," showrunner Tim Minear exclusively tells PEOPLE. "I think it's a favorite holiday for a lot our staff. And that love of the holiday translates right to our characters. This year might be the most lighthearted Halloween episode we've done — until it's not.”

9-1-1's Halloween episode will air Thursday, Oct. 24, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.

Titled "Costume Contest," Abbott Elementary's Halloween episode will air on Oct. 30 at 9:30 p.m. ET.

According to the episode's official logline, Quinta Brunson's Janine and Tyler James Williams's Gregory get excited to show off their couples costumes — though things don't go entirely according to plan.

Janine and Gregory's costumes pay homage to Jurassic Park while Lisa Ann Walter's Melissa is dressed up like a guinea pig.

While speaking with PEOPLE and Entertainment Weekly at the 76th annual Primetime Emmy Awards Red Carpet Live show, Sheryl Lee Ralph gave an inside scoop into the upcoming Halloween special.

"Let me just say, it was hot, hot, hot," Ralph, who plays Barbara, recalled. "It was 107 degrees and I was enveloped in fur." Despite the uncomfortable working conditions, the star admits that the product of their work amounted to "such a funny episode."

In an exclusive statement to PEOPLE, Brunson teases what fans can expect "fun costumes and some pretty scary revelations for our characters!”

America's Funniest Home Videos is hoping to turn screams into laughs in their upcoming Halloween episode.

In PEOPLE's exclusive image, host Alfonso Ribeiro gets into the holiday spirit when he strikes a scary pose in a special all-orange suit.

Executive producers Vin Di Bona and Michele Nasrway tease that fans will be treated to various Halloween tricks and laughter is sure to ensue.

“Every member of the family will enjoy the Halloween hilarity in this spooktacular episode, which features the funniest costumes, folks’ and pets’ alarmed reactions to scary decorations, and the tribulations of Trick or Treating," they said.

America's Funniest Home Videos' Halloween episode airs Sunday, Oct.27 at 7 p.m. ET on ABC.

Dancing with the Stars

The five remaining couples vying for the mirrorball trophy will get into the spooky spirit with "hair-raising transformations and spine-tingling routines" on Halloween Nightmares Night.

“The Halloween episode is always a highlight of the season for us as our dancers and stars get to bring out their ghoulish side," showrunner Conrad Green tells PEOPLE. "We like to try to keep the night fresh each season, so this time we’re theming it on the Nightmares of stars- the things that creep them out, and we get to know their deepest and darkest fears- then bring them to life on live TV! We like to think of it as therapy…”

Joshua Jackson is the king of the seas in Doctor Odyssey's brand-new Halloween episode.

The episode, aptly titled, "Halloween Week" will feature a high-stakes costume contest. But when a "zombie-like illness plagues select passengers, the festivities take a dark turn," the logline reads, "Meanwhile, Avery and Max embark on a rescue mission."

In PEOPLE's first look, Jackson isn't the only one who dons a nautical-themed costume. Sean Teale, who plays Nurse Tristan, embodies Captain Jack Sparrow.

“The only ones who had as much fun recreating these iconic characters like Poseidon and Jack Sparrow were Josh and Sean themselve," costume designer, Rudy Mance tells PEOPLE. "Once we put the costumes on, they both immediately went into character, with Josh puffing up his chest and talking in a deep voice holding his spear, and Sean acting drunk on rum punch and swaying around."

"I’d tell you more about the other costumes viewers can expect to see, but as we always say on Doctor Odyssey, ‘Loose Lips Sink Ships!!’” he laughed.

Doctor Odyssey airs Thursday, Oct. 24 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.

Press Your Luck will also have a special dedicated Halloween episode to celebrate the fall season.

Contestants will first answer trivia questions, which in turn grants them spins on a prize board. It’s not all fun and games, though – the prize board comes with some risk, too, as landing on a “Whammy” will strip them of all of their cash and prizes.

"If you're a fan of Halloween, then this episode of ‘Press Your Luck’ is for you! We've got thrills, ghoulish giveaways and, of course, the frightful WHAMMY," Host and executive producer Elizabeth Banks tells PEOPLE. "There are no tricks - only treats for those that dare to tune in."
