Abbie Chatfield's dating horror story about ex's wild lie
Abbie Chatfield has revealed an ex's elaborate lie to get out of meeting her family and friends.
Abbie Chatfield has shared a dating horror story about the time she caught an ex out in an elaborate lie after he told her he couldn't meet her family and friends because he was going on a very random trip away.
Abbie said the pair had been together for "years" on and off, and when she asked him to meet some of the special people in her life over the festive season, he said, "Oh I can't, I'm going to Antarctica."
Abbie then said that on New Year's Day, she got a weird feeling about it all and went to the guy's Instagram and didn't find anything - but then went into his friends' tagged photos and saw her man hanging out in Burleigh Heads in Queensland.
"Not quite Antarctica, is it?" she said.
She then said the man in question got "back from Antarctica" and she went to his house to confront him about lying to her.

"All this man did was go 'I'm sorry, baby'," she said with a sarcastic laugh.
"We obviously aren't together, maybe this summer I'll use Bumble to have someone hopefully not lie about Antarctica again," she said at the end of the video. (Yes, a Bumble-sponsored video before you ask.)
People in the comments couldn't believe the audacity, though some were sceptical of the story.
"It’s just MEN," one person complained.
"Nice story for Bumble but I don’t think you're silly enough to truly believe that he was going to Antarctica and it’s why he couldn’t be with you," one person commented.
Others came in with the banter.
"I guess you could say he gave you the cold shoulder," one person joked. "At least pick a feasible country lol," another remarked.
And one person couldn't help but share their own very similar story.
"I met a guy off Bumble a few years ago who ghosted me when I thought things were going amazing …. And he actually did go to Antarctica!" they said.
