Yahoo Lifestyle 90 Day Fiancé: Julia Trubkina Says Husband Brandon Gibbs Was Hospitalized for Anxiety (Exclusive)
90 Day Fiancé star Julia Trubkina had her world rocked when she moved from Krasnodar, Russia (where she worked as a go-go dancer) to a farm in Virginia with her now-husband Brandon Gibbs' parents. Since the pair wed in April 2020, their relationship has seemed picture-perfect, at least by Instagram standards, but their appearance on 90 Day: The Last Resort is proving that their marriage is anything but flawless.
"Everybody see us in social media like bubbly, happy, but people doesn't know what happened behind the camera," Trubkina tells Parade exclusively.
Now the couple's private life is playing out on TV with Julia's reluctance to have children, Brandon's discomfort with with Julia's wardrobe choices and the role Brandon's mom, Betty, plays in their relationship all out in the open.
While that may already seem like plenty to juggle, Trubkina reveals to Parade that the couple was also forced to cope with Brandon's severe anxiety, that at one point got so bad he had to be hospitalized.
"I never meet innocent person like Brandon, but he have a big level of anxiety so he been in the hospital. In the Happily Ever After tell all, his heart, almost like stop basically," Trubkina remembers, tearing up.
"I don't know sometimes how to deal because I never have experienced that," she continues.
They appear on The Last Resort alongside other 90 Day fan favorites like Jasmine Pineda and Gino Palazzolo, a couple long known for bringing the drama. True to form, Jasmine had some less than kind words to say about Brandon, saying he had the "personality of a fart," meaning no one wanted to be around him.
"The first time Jasmine said, 'Oh, he got personality like fart.' I mean, like Jasmine, you will be regret when you know what happened," Julia says in reference to her husband's anxiety condition.
As for the other couples gracing the "therapy boot camp" series, Julia was most surprised to see newlyweds Sophie Sierra and Rob Warne. "I'm surprising to see Sophie and Rob there because I thinking them already broke up!" she said. "But then I know they broke up every day, so that's why."
Ariela Weinberg and Biniyam Shibre are a 90 Day couple who got together in 2019, but as this season of The Last Resort has shown, things are extremely tense between the two as well. Biniyam was even seen kissing a mystery woman on social media.
"I think he's just there because he just trying to be good, but he not for this therapy," Trubkina shares. "We saw on social media for a couple years, pictures with another girl!"
As for The Last Resort couple Julia is rooting for, that answer comes easily. "Can I be selfish? I'm rooting for me and Brandon," she says.
