The 5 Best Contenders for ’The Golden Bachelor’ Season 2 Lead
The Golden Bachelorette introduced us to several dozen extremely cute and wholesome older gentlemen who are searching for love in their twilight years. And now that Joan Vassos has found her Happily Ever After™ with Chock Chapple, the time has come to turn our attention to matchmaking everyone else.
While a few of Joan’s contestants are already dating post-show, one of them will be named ABC’s next Golden Bachelor. And we have some theories about who the most likely contenders are for the gig.
The Next Golden Bachelor Will Probably Be One of These Guys
Mark Anderson
Mark first popped up in Bachelor Nation when he appeared during his daughter Kelsey Anderson’s Hometown Date with Joey Graziadei. Obviously, fans immediately clocked him as a Hot Dad and he was inevitably cast on The Golden Bachelorette, where he quickly became a favorite. That said, there are rumors Mark is dating actor Barbara Alyn Woods based on several TikToks of them acting extremely couple-y.
Either way, Kelsey is here for the possibility of Mark being the next Golden Bachelor, telling Us Weekly, “If that’s what he wants to do, I would fully support him. I think that my dad has grown so much through this journey of The Golden Bachelorette. So, yeah, I would 100 percent be excited for him and support him.”
Meanwhile, Mark told Extra a few weeks ago, “I can’t think of saying no” to the role.
Charles Ling
Would literally melt into a puddle of happiness if Charles Ling—perhaps the nicest person to ever step foot in the cursed Bachelor Mansion—became our next Golden Bachelor. No one deserves it more than this man...and by the way, Charles seems tentatively down! At least based on him telling Entertainment Tonight, “This is a new idea to me, to be honest. I have to wait and see. When I applied, honestly, I didn’t know much about this Bachelor or even The Golden Bachelor program itself.”
Jonathan Rone
Jonathan Rone is an obvious choice for next Golden Bachelor, but there’s just one issue. He just debuted a relationship with his new girlfriend, Michelle, on social media. So unless something changes (which we hope it doesn’t—rooting for Jonathan + Michelle!), it seems unlikely we’ll see him on another reality dating show.
Pascal Ibgui (Maybe...)
Pascal makes for great television, but here’s the thing: He recently told Us Weekly that if he was going to be the Golden Bachelor, they’d have to “lower the age” of his contestants. Direct quote: “Yes, I’m old, but I don’t go out with a 72-year-old woman.”
Don’t...love that.
Jordan Heller
Jordan is definitely the whole Golden Bachelor package, buuuuut he was spotted on what looked to be a date with Golden Bachelor season 1 alum Leslie Fima.

Leslie played down the whole dating thing but confirmed they’ve been texting and pretty much couldn’t stop gushing about Jordan during the Almost Famous podcast. “Jordan, I feel like we have a lot in common,” she said. “I know that he’s funny. I love funny. He lives in Chicago, I live in Minneapolis. He even has a dog, I have a dog. I mean, stuff like that’s important. And we’re both Jewish, and at the end of the day, that’s important to me as well. It’s not a hard stop…but I mean if you meet someone and they are your faith, that’s just icing on the cake.”
Love this match, but if it doesn’t work out, Jordan would definitely make a great Golden Bach!
