It doesn’t matter how laid back or restful my holiday season was, I always seem to come into January already in a cooking rut. Maybe it’s because I spent so much of December in the kitchen—cooking and eating holiday leftovers—but when it comes time to get back into my January routine, I’m in desperate need of inspiration.

Luckily, TikTok is filled with so many delicious and simple recipes that require only a few ingredients and make for great weeknight meals. In fact, the app is where I found one of my favorite recipes of all time from Chef Emeril Lagasse, his spicy sausage rigatoni.

While I love the sauce, thanks to the Calabrian chili pepper paste and spicy Italian sausage—so much that I could eat it straight out of the pot on French bread—it’s not always great for lazy weeknights. Some nights, I’m just not in the mood to dice up vegetables or simmer a meat-based sauce.

Now, thanks to TikToker @GrilledCheeseSocial, I found my new go-to hearty pasta when I’m craving Lagasse’s sausage rigatoni, but want a dish requiring minimal effort. Let me introduce you to the robust, four-ingredient pasta of your dreams.

How To Make 4-Ingredient Boursin Sausage Pasta

GrilledCheeseSocial’s four-ingredient pasta is made with pasta (she uses rigatoni), jarred marinara sauce (she uses Carbone’s Tomato Basil), Italian sausage, and Boursin cheese (she uses the classic Garlic & Fine Herbs variety). As is the case with any recipe that calls for the creamy, herbaceous soft cheese, the Boursin is what makes this pasta dish so flavorful and delicious.

To make the pasta, you’ll simply cook up the Italian sausage until brown, then add in the Boursin, and stir until creamy. Mix in your favorite marinara sauce and serve over cooked noodles.

It’s so easy to make and gives you a hearty dish in practically no time at all. Plus, it’s endlessly customizable, which made me love it even more.

You can use any pasta sauce (I opted for Sauz’s Creamy Calabrian Vodka sauce), pasta shape, Boursin cheese flavor, and sausage—I chose hot Italian sausage for some extra spice. No matter the combination, the rich pasta sauce, seasoned sausage, and delectably creamy, garlicky cheese work perfectly together every time.

Personally, I added some veggies to the dish—including spinach and mushrooms—for some extra nutrients, and topped it with a little Parmesan cheese and fresh basil. I already know that the creamy, meat-filled pasta is going to be in my permanent rotation when I need a quick, easy, and filling meal on a busy weeknight.
