There are spoilers ahead!!
1.The Old Guard (2020)
"I’ve watched it so many times I can practically quote it word for word. The actors embody their characters so incredibly well, and the centuries-long relationships feel real. The action scenes are breathtaking and electric. Plus, immortal gay husbands. Amazing."
2.Field of Dreams (1989)
"The full circle from Kevin Costner watching the games with his daughter to playing on the field with his father gets me every time."
3.Ocean's Eleven (2001)
"It is a brilliant film with an incredible cast! I've rewatched this riveting film countless times since I first saw it in theaters way back in 2001, and I'm captivated by every second of it every time! From the humorous banter between characters to the handful of surprises along the way, this extraordinary film never fails to remind me why heists are always high atop my list of favorites! 👏🏻"
4.Jurassic Park (1993)
"Steven Spielberg's directing + a score by John Williams. It doesn’t get much better. It is hands down my favorite film of all time. I have loved dinosaurs since I was about five years old. Jurassic Park was the first PG-13 movie I saw in theaters. I actually just watched it recently on a big screen while the Boston Pops played the score live at Boston Symphony Hall. I watch it at least once a year."
5.Big Hero 6 (2014)
"Big Hero 6 was the best Marvel movie and one of Disney's best pieces."
6.Paddington 2 (2017)
"Paddington 2 is the cliche choice, but it’s that for a reason."
7.Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
"Great acting, storytelling, and visuals!! I FELT the seriousness and intensity of the mission and the pilots' emotions, accepting they might not come home!! I became a Tom Cruise and Miles Teller fan IMMEDIATELY!"
8.Jojo Rabbit (2019)
"Jojo Rabbit is a unique story about prejudice, influence, loss, and realization. Set in Nazi Germany in the 1940s, the setting of the story is nothing to joke about. That's why I think Taika Waititi and the cast have done a perfect job of not glossing over the true events but focusing on the development and relationships of the characters. Sometimes the movie is funny, even though it shouldn't be, but you are allowed to smile. It has witty irony that you have to be able to take. It's heartwarming without being schmaltzy. I love everything about this movie, but especially the child's perspective and how Waititi has adapted it."
9.Ever After (1998)
"It's the absolute best Cinderella story."
10.Spider-Man: Into The Spider-verse (2018)
"Spider-Man: Into The Spider-verse is cinematic perfection. Every character detail is thought over and perfected to the fullest and the plot is unique and so well done."
11.Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986)
"It gets better every time I watch it, and it’s such a unique, feel-good movie. All of the performances are incredible, the parade scene is one-of-kind, and the humor has aged wonderfully."
12.Bolt (2008)
"It’s so underrated as a Disney movie, and most people haven’t heard of it, but it’s honestly so brilliant, the revealing of information is so well-paced, and the character development is perfectly done. It’s an incredible movie that needs time in the spotlight."
13.Miss Congeniality (2000)
"A truly perfect comedy from start to finish 👏."
14.Scream (1996)
"Absolutely clever. They tell you who the killer is right away but spend the whole movie trying to point fingers at everyone else. It has an amazing plot and a perfect ending."
15.Rocky (1976)
"It starts out with the second-rate boxer Rocky Balboa fighting an even worse opponent in a dirty, steamy, and downright pathetic boxing ring. Rocky wins, and from then on, his life changes forever. The film is filled with memorable music and scenes, including Rocky’s iconic ascension to the top of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Rocky finds love and learns to respect himself. It’s the definitive Cinderella story, and the ending is perfect. There’s not a weak scene in the film; the screenplay is packed with plenty of well-known lines, and the acting is first-rate. An absolutely flawless film from start to finish!"
16.Shrek (2001)
"I don’t believe Shrek has ever been chosen as someone’s favorite film, as it has just been globally agreed that Shrek is *everyone’s* favorite film."
17.The Princess Bride (1987)
"It’s such a good movie — funny, romantic, and everything in between."
18.Candleshoe (1977)
"It's an old Disney movie starring a young Jodie Foster. It takes place in a gorgeous old mansion in the English countryside. And it's got mystery, action, laughs, heart, and hidden treasure. What more could you want?"
19.Sicario (2015)
"I rewatched it recently to see if I would still feel the same about it as I did when it came out. I did. Absolutely. The cinematography is stunning, the script is top tier, the action feels dangerous and real, the stakes feel high, the character arcs are perfect, and on top of all that it has some amazing and realistic statements to make about the brutal drug trade. It is somehow a fast, tense, crazy action thriller while being a subtle, layered, well-acted masterpiece. 10/10."
20.L.A. Confidential (1997)
"With its whip-smart script adapted from James Ellroy's book of the same name, superb character development, and top-notch cast, it's my perfect movie. The intertwined stories and characters may seem labyrinthine at times, but it all dovetails perfectly at the end. It's Hollywood writing at its absolute best."
21.Interstellar (2014)
"Interstellar is a masterpiece from beginning to end. It's full-circle moment is amazing."
22.Lord of the Rings: Return of the King (2003)
"It ended the trilogy in the most epic and beautiful of ways, plus it is one of only a handful of movies to win every Oscar it was nominated for!"
23.Zootopia (2016)
"It brings me such joy every time I watch it."
24.And finally, How to Train Your Dragon (2010)
"The movie is breathtaking, the music score is absolutely wild and the story is beautiful. I really wish there were more movies made like that."
