Princess Eugenie Sends Message of Gratitude to Mom Sarah Ferguson About Her Childhood Health Condition

Princess Eugenie is feeling grateful for her mom, Sarah Ferguson.

In honor of Scoliosis Awareness Month, the 34-year-old daughter of Ferguson and Prince Andrew recently took to Instagram to open up about her battle with childhood scoliosis, something she says she was able to pull through thanks to the help of her mom.

Sharing a throwback photo from when she was just a little kid, Princess Eugenie wrote, "My mum caught my scoliosis early and I was lucky enough to get the help I needed at 12 years old."

"I thank her so much for that and also thank her for the confidence to be proud of my scar," she continued in her caption, adding that Ferguson, 64, "removed all the stigma around having scoliosis for me by confidently showing people what I'd been through and it took all the fear and anxiety out of being different at such a young age."

She concluded the post, "I am forever grateful and wish everyone to be proud of their scars."

The post, shared to Instagram on Saturday, June 29, inspired tons of heartwarming messages in the comments, including other "scoliosis warriors" who could personally relate to Eugenie's story.

"You are such an inspiration to the scoliosis community," one fan posted in the comments.

Ferguson also commented on the vulnerable post, writing to her younger daughter, "I am so touched by this and in awe of you."

She continued, "I hope this inspires young people to own their scars and life's journey as you have so beautifully done. ❤️."

In addition to Princess Eugenie, Ferguson is also a mom to 35-year-old daughter Prince Beatrice, whom she shares with the disgraced Duke of York. Ferguson and Prince Andrew were married for 10 years before finalizing their divorce in 1996.
