The 2025 SAG Award Nominations Are Here: 'Wicked' and 'Shōgun' Lead With 5 Nods
Did your favorites make the list?
The 2025 awards show circuit is in full swing. On the heels of an eventful 82nd annual Golden Globes ceremony, Hollywood's best is gearing up for what can only be an electric 31st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on February 23 in Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium. The SAG Awards, which will once again broadcast on Netflix, celebrate the "outstanding motion picture and television performances of the year" and serve as a preview for industry insiders about what might come at the Oscars.
Amid the ongoing fires in Los Angeles, the Screen Actors Guild cancelled the live announcements, set to be hosted by Joey King and Cooper Koch. The nominations, however, were still announced on Wednesday via a press release. To many fans' delight, Wicked leads the film pack with five total nominations, including Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, and Johnathon Bailey also all received nods for their respective roles of Glinda, Elphaba, and Fiyero. A Complete Unknown followed with four nods, including Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for Timothée Chalamet's portrayal of Bob Dylan. In terms of television, Shōgun racked up the most with 5 nominations. The Bear trails with four nominations.
While viewers will just have to wait and see who wins big, some things are guaranteed, including the biggest stars dressed to the nines, many a sentimental speech, and some belly-laugh jokes from this year's host and Nobody Wants This star, Kristen Bell. Last year's show saw an iconic The Devil Wears Prada reunion, Pedro Pascal hilariously admit to being "a little drunk" on stage, Billie Eilish confusingly autographing Melissa McCarthy's forehead, and some absolute knock-out, pinkified fashion moments from the Barbie cast.
While you wait for the results—and the iconic fashion moments—read on for a complete list of nominees.
