19 TV Costars Who Were So Entrancing Together In 2024, They Had The Most Memorable Romantic Or Platonic Chemistry

To celebrate 2024, we recently asked the BuzzFeed Community to tell us which TV actors had the best chemistry of the year, either romantic or platonic. Meaning, there were moments from TV episodes that aired in 2024 that simply had you stop and go, "Wow, their chemistry is incredible."

So, here are some of the top responses (plus a few of my own):

In order to show some of their very best moments, there are some MAJOR spoilers in the photos below!

1.First, Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan as Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington in Bridgerton

Colin and Penelope in a scene from Bridgerton in a carriage. Penelope tells Colin she wants to be more than friends and they kiss

2.Kathryn Hahn and Aubrey Plaza as Agatha Harkness and Rio Vidal in Agatha All Along

Four scenes from a movie: two women in a dramatic forest confrontation, with text reading, "Agatha. That boy isn't yours."

"Agatha and Rio, by far."

3.Kristen Bell and Adam Brody as Joanne and Noah Roklov in Nobody Wants This

4.Damian Hardung and Harriet Herbig-Matten as James Beaufort and Ruby Bell in Maxton Hall

A young woman in a courtroom scene looks concerned, a close-up of hands holding, as a man in a suit offers support.

Their chemistry was so stunning that I ended up on the edge of my couch a few times. The moment when James holds Ruby and also opens the car door. I can't.

Prime Video

5.George Rexstrew and Jayden Revri as Edwin Payne and Charles Rowland in Dead Boy Detectives

Two people in a dramatic conversation in a dimly lit setting; one wears a jacket with pins, the other a plain shirt

"It's a shame that we won’t see Charles and Edwin again, but I hope we see Jayden and George in more projects."

6.Madelyn Cline and Chase Stokes as Sarah Cameron and John B. Routledge in Outer Banks

Sarah sitting on John B's lap saying she was scared to tell him and him reassuring her that he loves her and they'll figure it out

I have the softest of soft spots for John B. and Sarah Cameron. And in the second part of Season 4, Chase and Madelyn's chemistry was just exceptional. I love them so much.

Netflix

7.Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira as Rick Grimes and Michonne in The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live

Two characters from a TV show engage in a tender moment, embracing closely and gazing into each other’s eyes

8.Sam Heughan and Caitríona Balfe as Jamie Fraser and Claire Fraser in Outlander

TV show scene with two characters in emotional moments, featuring conversations by a fireplace and an embracing close-up

Even seven seasons in, Sam and Caitríona continue to have some of the most electric chemistry on TV. I'm going to miss these two on-screen together after the show ends.

Starz

9.Kit Connor and Joe Locke as Nick Nelson and Charlie Spring in Heartstopper

Two young men in casual jackets share a tender moment on a dimly lit street, culminating in a kiss

"For Heartstopper fans: Charlie and Nick forever and ever! But, also, Tao and Nick kinda blossomed into a fun platonic duo!!"

10.Jacob Anderson and Sam Reid as Louis de Pointe du Lac and Lestat de Lioncourt in Interview with the Vampire

Four emotional TV scene images showing three people. The first two images show the characters looking somber. The last two images show them hugging

"That ending made me cry!"

11.Ambika Mod and Leo Woodall as Emma Morley and Dexter Mayhew in One Day

Emma and Dex in a scene from One Day where they look longingly at each other before coming together for a kiss

An adaptation of One Day only works if Emma and Dex have the kind of chemistry people yearn for, and that's exactly what Ambika and Leo had. It was so good that it made the end all the more heartbreaking.

Netflix

12.Austin Butler and Callum Turner as Major Gale "Buck" Cleven and Major John "Bucky" Egan in Masters of the Air

Actors in WWII military attire stand behind barbed wire in a scene from a war film or series

"ALSO platonic wise (we think ;)), but Austin Butler and Callum Turner in Masters of the Air."—tnh24

13.Adelaide Kane and Midori Francis as Dr. Jules Millin and Dr. Mika Yasuda in Grey's Anatomy

Jules and Minka in two scenes from "Grey's Anatomy" looking longingly at each other. The second image features them lying in bed together

Adelaide and Midori's chemistry is what made me interested in Grey's Anatomy again. They were so good together, and I am still in mourning that Midori left the show just when these two finally got together.

ABC

14.Edvin Ryding as Prince Wilhelm "Wille" and Omar Rudberg as Simon Eriksson in Young Royals

Two young men in school uniforms stand on a tree-lined path. They embrace in the last image

15.Quinta Brunson and Tyler James Williams as Janine Teagues and Gregory Eddie in Abbott Elementary

Three stills from a TV scene: A couple is shown in a doorway, kissing, and having a serious conversation in a home setting

Their long-awaited kiss at the end of Season 3 was so good and so well-earned. Gregory fixing Janine's light was one of the sexiest moments on TV in 2024. Period.

ABC

16.Kaitlin Olson and Daniel Sunjata as Morgan and Karadec in High Potential

Two people in a dramatic scene; a man in a suit faces a woman wearing a stylish fur coat over a printed shirt

ABC

17.Lily Gladstone and Riley Keough as Cam Bentland and Rebecca Godfrey in Under the Bridge

Three-panel scene from a TV show depicting two women sharing an intimate moment, culminating in a kiss

Listen, I didn't go into Under the Bridge expecting a steamy relationship between Cam and Rebecca, but oh my god, was it a great surprise. Put Lily and Riley in more projects together.

Hulu

18.Tyler Hoechlin and Bitsie Tullock as Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane in Superman & Lois

19.And finally, Emma D'Arcy and Olivia Cooke as Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower in House of the Dragon

Three images from a TV scene with two women in medieval-style clothing, one with curly hair, the other with braids, both appearing emotional

Season 2 was a bit all over the place, but one thing that remained consistent was Emma and Olivia's unmatchable onscreen chemistry. They are just mesmerizing together with the minimal screen time they share.
