Zendaya and Tom Holland Are “Excited” by Fans’ Reaction to Their Engagement

Sure, the entirety of the internet is beside itself with joy at the news of Zendaya and Tom Holland's engagement, but how do they feel about the news being out there? According to several outlets, the couple is handling their fan's reaction with grace—not that we'd expect anything less from Zendaya and Holland.

Us Weekly reported that Zendaya is cool with the world knowing about her and Holland's engagement, but wasn't prepared to shout it from the rooftops. “Zendaya tried to keep it a secret but was very excited to show off her ring,” a source told the outlet. “She didn’t think people would notice but didn’t care either way.”

As for how the Spider-Man star feels, a source told to People, “Tom’s always had this sweet way of letting the world know that Zendaya is his. Now, it’s official—she really is!”  The proposal was a long time coming, the source said, explaining that Holland had been "wanting to propose [to the Challengers actress] for a while now." The insider added, "He's always been crazy about her. He always knew she was the one," the source said, adding, "They have something very special."

Part of why Holland and Zendaya are so okay with the public knowing about their engagement is because they've discussed it in the past. “Tom wanted to propose because he feels he is at the right time in his life and feels ready to settle down,” the Us source said. “They had many conversations over the years, but there was never any pressure. Zendaya is giddy and excited. She knew it might have been coming but never put pressure on it.”
