Well think again because this video has scientifically proven the perfect way to tuck into a round cake.
The amazing clip was uploaded to YouTube by mathematician Alex Bellos, who has conjured up a scientifically smarter technique for cutting and preserving cake.
Instead of rushing into cutting the delight into triangular pieces, Alex rather controversially cuts the cake directly down the middle and then pushes the two halves together.
After that he take a rubber band to make sure the cake maintains moisture and sticks together when cutting the next slice.

The next day, cut two slices down the middle and keep repeating the method until the cake is gone.
