YouTuber Rosanna Pansino Smokes Marijuana Grown From Her Father's Ashes to Fulfill His Dying Wish: 'My Dad Was a Little Rebel'
Rosanna Pansino opened up about the grief of losing her father on the first episode of the 'Rodiculous' podcast
YouTube creator Rosanna Pansino paid tribute to her late father on the first episode of her new podcast Rodiculous.
The 39-year-old Nerdy Nummies host opened up about her father Papa Pizza — who died of leukemia five years ago — on the first episode of the podcast on Nov. 16 and revealed that his dying wish was for her to "take his ashes, mix it in with some soil, and grow a marijuana plant and smoke him."
"Before he passed, he told me and my mom what he would like us to do with his ashes and at first, my mom was a little bit hesitant," she explained. "She thought, this is kind of hippie [and] people are gonna judge us. But as time's gone on, we just really think that it's the right time to do what dad wanted and to honor him the way he wanted."
Pansino then shared footage of her and her mom planting the marijuana plant using his ashes and added that "It was very emotional and special, and I'm glad that we got to have these memories, like, honoring dad together. If Papa Pizza could see this, you guys, he would just he would get a huge kick out of this."

She fulfilled his dying wish towards the middle of the episode and smoked the marijuana on camera while her mom and sister smoked it off camera. She opened up about dealing with her grief and said it felt like a part of her died with her dad at the time and added that it was "interesting how grief can hit you when you are not planning for it, and you don't want it to."
"Losing dad just because he was [also] one of my best friends, it was just different," she continued. "And I thought over time, the sadness would fade, but [the] grief is always with me, it feels like it is permanently attached to me."

She also opened up more about her father and shared that he "was a good husband to my mom... a caring brother to his siblings, a good friend, neighbor, a great dad, and one of my best friends."

"He was kind of a Willie Nelson type, and he smoked from time to time," she continued. "And we even smoked a cigar together for the first time on my 18th birthday," which made fulfilling his dying wish even more special to her.
"I think I'm just like my dad. He was a social butterfly, I think that definitely rubbed off on me," she continued. "He also taught me to respect life and not be wasteful. Don't take s— from anyone. And just because you're small doesn't mean you can't make a difference. My dad was a bada-- and quite a little rebel, and I will be following in his footsteps."
