Yes, an asteroid is headed to “9-1-1: Lone Star”: 'Anybody else getting end-of-days vibes?'

What could one-up a bee-nado? How about an asteroid.
The 9-1-1 shows have brought us toxic gas clouds, a tsunami, a lightning superstorm, citywide blackouts, serial killers, and pretty much every other disaster imaginable. But when 9-1-1: Lone Star returns in January for the Fox drama's final four episodes, the firefighters of Station 126 have just an hour's notice that an asteroid is headed right to Austin.

The preview for the end of season 5 (and the entire series) aired following Monday's winter finale. It begins with Owen (Rob Lowe) gathering his firehouse to share some news that's "not the end of the world." (He's seemingly referring to his plans to move back to New York and run the NYC fire department.) Then Judd (Jim Parrack) gets a phone notification of the incoming disaster.
"The asteroid could splinter into a million tiny pieces…" Wyatt (Jackson Pace) says before another dispatcher chimes in: "[or] become a statewide extinction event."
Whatever happens, it's clear it doesn't go well for the first responders. Almost the entire main cast is shown bracing for impact — the most troubling shot being Mateo (Julian Works) bloody and glass-eyed…

Outside of the potential catastrophe, it appears we'll also see Judd facing frustrations as he tackles his alcoholism, something co-showrunner Rashad Raisani tells Entertainment Weekly will result in Parrack giving "one of the great performances of this series" in episode 10.
