Yellowstone season 5 part 2 is currently airing its final episodes on Paramount Network, and fans can't help but tune in to see what will happen to the Dutton family. But did the show slyly hint that something else may be in viewers' futures?

Folks noticed something intriguing in preparation for the upcoming season 5 episode (airing on December 8). In a teaser clip that dropped after the December 1 episode, it previewed what's to come with Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly), her biological brother Kayce (Luke Grimes), her husband Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) and other key figures on Yellowstone. But amid a montage of snippets, viewers can hear a surprise phrase playing over it: "Only one episode left until the season finale of Yellowstone."

Given how it's been widely discussed how Yellowstone will end after this installment of episodes, Reddit user @AlvinsCuriousCasper asked what we all were thinking. "Paramount … when showing previews for next week … they said only one episode left before the SEASON Finale … they did NOT use the word Series Finale … So … will there be a Season 6 after all?" he wrote on the platform. "Thoughts? Slip up on their end maybe?"

As the post started to build traction on Reddit, this led other Yellowstone fans to theorize what Paramount Network could've meant.

"They haven’t pulled the trigger on ending it in Season 5. I think they want to see if the fan base is there with these 6 episodes of season 5. If they like the numbers they’ll make season 6," one person hypothesized. "Perhaps a split season, like a few episodes after [Christmas]?" another considered. "I caught it, too. One wonders, though, if Paramount simply didn't update its ad bumper," a different person guessed.

Although there isn't a clear answer as to why Paramount Network worded their promo the way they did, we do like the idea that the show can be split into more installments. After all, we did see this with season 5 — who's to say we won't get something like this again? And if the show does get a potential season 6, we wouldn't mind it at all.

Presently, though, we can only speculate that something major will occur at the very end of Yellowstone. What's more, Cole is already alluding to an incredible twist — one that people won't see coming.

"This show and what they think this season is going to be — everybody has their opinion of it," he told Reuters in November. "And to be quite honest, none of them are right."
