The Wiggles star, Emma Watkins, has landed a new gig, which she’ll carry out in addition to her duties in the children’s band.
The job will see her join radio station Smooth FM as a weekend presenter from each Saturday and Sunday from 12pm-2pm.
“I’m a Smooth FM fan, so when the request came out of the blue to join the station, I was so excited to be part of the Smooth FM team,” she said in a statement.
"I can't wait to share some of my all-time favourite songs with my fellow Aussies!"
Emma’s excitement about her new gig on the airwaves is understandable after what has otherwise been a tumultuous 12 months in her personal life.
The 30-year-old announced she had split with husband of two years and cast mate Lachlan Gillespie in August last year, while both remain members of The Wiggles.
"We have, and continue to share, the most beautiful life together, but we wanted to let you know that privately for the last six months we have been navigating through a trial separation, and we have made the decision to separate as a couple," they said at the time.
Months earlier, in April 2018, Emma was forced to withdraw from several shows, due to pain from endometriosis before undergoing surgery for the illness.
