X-rated sex confession leaves Kyle Sandilands red-faced

The Kyle and Jackie O show may be well known for ruffling feathers and wading into controversial territory, but a very candid sex discussion on the show proved too much for Kyle Sandilands this week.

While interviewing former Bachelor star Abbie Chatfield, Kyle and Jackie O’s discussion quickly veered from the state of her heart to more physical preoccupations.

The 24-year-old admitted that her time on The Bachelor wasn’t just about pursuing Matt Agnew’s affection but also about inspiring the other women on the show to explore their sexuality.

She told the gobsmacked radio hosts she spent a lot of time teaching her fellow contestants about ‘butt plugs and sex toys’, two words that almost bowled over notorious shock jock, Kyle.

“Butt plugs? Jesus! Okay. That's a whole new level,” a flustered Kyle said, going on to share a little more information than listeners bargained for.

“I’ve got arse issues I think, I say no to the arse,” he said, then dragging co-host Jackie O into the melee by telling the reality star that she was more open than him.

“Jackie on the other hand, very different,” he said.

“Not really, not that much,” Jackie protested, before conceding she was less bamboozled by Abbie’s topics than Kyle was.

“A little bit. I’m a bit more open to it than what Kyle is.”

Abbie also got candid about sexual health, telling the hosts about her own experience of contracting Chlamydia after an ex-boyfriend was unfaithful to her.

The X-rated conversation was somewhat overshadowed by the radio duo’s latest controversy which saw Kyle Sandilands leave viewers outraged when he teased a ‘health battle’ during an interview on 60 Minutes, only to say he was joking.

Addressing the interview on the Kyle and Jackie O show on Monday morning, Kyle got emotional as he revealed the truth behind the ‘joke’, saying he was genuinely emotional during the interview and revealing his long-standing mental health battle.

Finale was filmed a year ago, how?! It’s been the toughest but most rewarding year of my life and I’ll forever be grateful to the experience and also to Matt. It changed my life, and the adversity faced during and after the show is the reason I get to do what I love, and also the reason I got to look the hottest I will ever look. (Thanks @helendowsley and @kim_styledbycapitalk) I had some BTS photos to share but instead I’m gifting you with the stages of grief as told by my finale rejection because if you can’t laugh at yourself what is the point? Shock, denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance (acceptance is told by photos taken of me at the airport trying to find a new boyfriend with an M&M, Nelson Mandela and a Springbok) (also they kinda arent in that order lmao) Before we left the hotel, I was still laughing and trying to distract myself from the PANIC. I was so scared of what eventually did happen, but I wish I could go back in time and tell lil 23 year old bebe Abbie “Everything will be fucking great, and your value does not lie in the validation of a man, even if you love him.” On the way to film, I was actually really calm. I knew the decision had been made and my time in therapy had taught me there’s no point to worry twice. We had a Sat phone bc we were in the South African wilderness and whatever, and we kept singing “you used to call me on my sat phone”. Panicked me thought it was comic GENIUS. Clearly I was shocked at the final result, I didn’t see a need to doubt myself because I didn’t want to ruin any remaining time with Matt second guessing myself, I don’t regret this. When I applied for The Bachelor it was honestly, for a laugh. (Despite some people deciding ill intent without evidence 🙃) I didnt have any way of comprehending what I was about to go through, even at finale, after I was dumped on le rock, I thought it was the worst thing to happen to me, but now, because of my resilience, I’M FINE!!!!

It comes after Abbie reflected on her final appearance on The Bachelor one year ago, where she came runner-up to Chelsea McLaughlin.

She posted a lengthy reflection to her social media on Monday, discussing her shattering experience in the finale, and her eventual ability to conquer the broken heart and move on.

“Finale was filmed a year ago, how?!” she wrote alongside a number of images and videos of herself taken on the day.

“It’s been the toughest but most rewarding year of my life and I’ll forever be grateful to the experience and also to Matt. It changed my life, and the adversity faced during and after the show is the reason I get to do what I love...”
