Woolies' Discovery Garden returns with 24 seedlings to collect

Green thumbs, listen up: Woolies’ wildly popular Discovery Garden seedling kits are returning to stores, and there’s a bumper crop of exciting new varieties of veggies, herbs and flowers to collect and plant.

From Wednesday, February 10, customers can take home a seedling kit for every $30 spent in-store or online to get their Discovery Garden started.

On offer are 24 different seed types including chives, lavender and cherry tomato, most of which are not only edible but also attract honeybees.

Honeybees don’t just produce honey, as their name suggests. They also play a critical role in supporting the country’s local food supply through pollination.

A staggering one in three mouthfuls of the food we eat relies on honey bees for pollination, explains Trevor Weatherhead, Chair for the Australian Honey Bee Industry Council which has teamed up with Woolies for the project.

After the recent droughts, bushfires and floods that have decimated our floral resources, there’s never been a better time to get buzzy... er, we mean busy in the garden and plant some bee-friendly goodies.

Each Discovery Garden seedling kit comes in FSC certified and 100 per cent recyclable packaging and includes seeds, a compostable pot, biodegradable seed mat and coco pellet pod.
