Jesinta Campbell's Fitness Secrets

When it came to selecting our 100th issue cover star, it just had to be Jesinta Campbell.

Thanks to her love of sweating and smoothies, the 24-year-old TV presenter already had our attention – and yours (her last WH cover was so successful it was picked up by the UK and Russian editions of WH. For reals). But it’s how the David Jones ambassador handled herself – with maturity, intelligence, compassion and empathy – through this last year of highs, lows and headlines that really made the whole nation stop and notice her for the divine human she is. And when WH is reunited with her in person, she’s every bit as lovely as she seems. Wearing an off-theshoulder playsuit that shows off her impossibly long, toned limbs, Jesinta bounds over all ear-to-ear smiles and charming compliments (“Your hair is exactly how I want mine”). It’s easy to instantly click with this girl’s girl. Here, Campbell tells us, in her own words, where she’s headed...

You’re super fit – can you spill your secrets please?
There really is no secret, you’ve just got to work hard. Fitness is a whole package. All the little pieces of the puzzle have to come together. For me, it’s about moving your body and being fit and active, eating the right foods, drinking the right things and relaxation as well, it’s that balancing act. It’s really individualised as well, so what works for me might not work for someone else.

What’s your usual workout routine?
I’ve been really busy and so much has been going on in my personal life, it’s hard to get to the gym. But I only really ever let two days slide in between.

Usually, like in the lead-up to the David Jones show, I will do six times a week (boxing three times a week, plus pilates and cardio [running or PT] in between). For me, it’s so much more than the aesthetics. It’s that headspace, it’s the stress reliever, it’s how strong you become. I find it really empowering.

So is that how you sculpted those amazing abs?
I don’t actually do much core work. My abs are there for a reason, for functionality, because I use them all the time, not because I’m doing sit-ups every night.

What do you do with your PT?
I’m doing weights training with Dan [Adair at 98 Riley St]. I get a lot of results, everything is more toned, ,tighter and lifted. Your butt just lifts from doing squats and dead lifts. If you have a personal trainer, do something with them you can’t do by yourself.
